Europe and Cuba — “Same as it ever was”

Oh sure..sure. We’re hearing and reading about all this “support” in Europe for the Damas en Blanco..blah..blah.

But here’s where, to paraphrase Golden Earring, “The bullet MISSES the bone,” here’s the stuff that REALLY counts:

“The Cuba and Madrid Chambers of Commerce are meeting in Havana to boost economic and commercial relations among the two countries. Head of Cuban Chamber of Commerce Pedro Alvarez Borrego praised the progress made in the commercial exchange between Cuba and Spain.

As Keith Richards said: Talk (about Human Rights and such) is Cheap.

And as David Byrne said: Same as it ever was.

Unreal

  1. Spain has never given up

    the idea of re-possessing

so the Castros dangle the lure

    of this impossible dream

on the end of a string

  2. Perhaps that should have read:

    Spain has never given up

    the idea of re-possessing

    the Cuban isle of paradise

they want to lie in hammocks

as colonial slaves rush to serve them.

So the Castros dangle the lure

    of this impossible dream

on the end of a string

    cazando jaiba con cabuya

pues la jaiba no suelta la carnada
