‘Compelling reasons’ to vacation in Castro’s Cuba

The Australian travel writer Peter Needham has some “compelling reasons” to vacation in Castro’s Cuba:

Cuba is a magnet for travellers keen to see the country now, in case it suddenly changes. The Obama administration has relaxed travel rules for US citizens to visit Cuba and tourist numbers are growing. Cuba’s appeal consists of what South American specialist Contours Travel calls “Castro, cobblestones, Che, cigars, the Caribbean, communism and classic Cadillacs”. Some of those could change fast. Salsa, mambo and mojito cocktails should prove more enduring.

  1. And they say Marie Antoinette was callous, though she never said “Let them eat cake.” Now THIS is callous, but hey, anything for a buck. Besides, Cubans aren’t really people, more like glorified zoo animals. Unbelievable. Or rather, I wish it were.
