The Day After The Fartic Melt

I think I finally got the image of MSNBC’s Chris Matthews singing “My Boyfriend’s Back” out of my head. I think…

Anyhow, love him or hate him, you must admit if you need somebody to mount a strong clear and concise counter-attack on idiots, Newt Gingrich is a good choice

NEVER play poker with that man. And for the record, Chris Matthews, you keep complaining about the republican person you THINK you are trashing as a racist is “chuckling”. Chris, they are NOT laughing at the obviously serious welfare/food stamp issue … They are laughing at you, you racist bung hole.

Last night Chris Matthews was giving himself an attaboy with Politico, stating his employers are strongly behind his race-baiting

TAMPA — In an emotional interview with POLITICO tonight, MSNBC host Chris Matthews defended his spirited attack against RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, in which he alleged that the Republican party was guilty of playing the race card against President Barack Obama.

“It is obvious that this is something I care passionately about: race was abused by white politicians in my lifetime, including Reagan. For someone to come on the program and deny that this is part of their process, I couldn’t take that,” Matthews said. “This is something I really, deeply believe in. We grew up in a country where appeals to race have been awful, terrible. This language — we are beyond this. It had to be called out.”

[…]

Matthews criticism, leveled with a remarkable emotional intensity, visibly rankled the show’s co-hosts, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. RNC spokesman Sean Spicer called it “outlandish.” Priebus called it “garbage,” and later charged Matthews with trying to be “the biggest jerk in the room.” In an interview with Matthews Monday evening, Newt Gingrich charged Matthews with racism.

But Matthews told POLITICO that has received an outpouring of support — from his bosses, who he says “agree with substance of what I said,” and from fans in places as disparate as Mozambique and Jamaica.

“I have never heard — never heard — such a positive response,” Matthews said. “The people I’ve met, globally, the people who have felt this, personally — I’ve never got such a positive response.”

Well yes. Yes they do, Chris. You state the obvious. Those of us who are onto you and NBC/MSNBC know ‘your mission’. Ratings be damned, man!

Unphased Matthews splash-zone target RNC Chairman Reince Priebus recognizes somebody with diminished mental capabilities (useful idiot) and its willful enablers when he sees `em.

An extra here…

L.A. Mayor and Democratic Convention Chair Antonio Villaraigosa refuses to call the Bank of America Stadium where the DNC will hold their convention by it’s name:

Yeah, that’ll work, Mayor.

  1. Matthews is either a particularly vulgar opportunist or a loony zealot. He has zero credibility, or no more than a fanatical cult follower would. He doesn’t bother me per se, since such people have always been around and always will be, like cockroaches. The problem is that anybody would take him even halfway seriously. And yes, paying him to spew his cringe-inducing tripe qualifies as taking him seriously. In other words, his employers are much more disreputable and objectionable than he. Pity the fool.

  2. You know, that Matthews clip encourages me. Not just because Newt Gingrich — Newt Gingrich! — made him look ridiculous. But for another reason: That, that is the best they can do?!?!

It’s about 10:10 AM my time. I just got up (yeah, my work hours start a bit late). I love the smell of Dem desperation in the morning. Gets me ready to go tackle the day.
