“Resistance to tyranny becomes the Christian and social duty of each individual. … Continue steadfast and, with a proper sense of your dependence on God, nobly defend those rights which heaven gave, and no man ought to take from us.” – John Hancock

What will happen when they come for our guns?

Not in the larger picture sense of the notion, in the individual sense; a citizen facing a government agent demanding that he turn his weapons over to the State.

What happens then?

“Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option.” – New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, December 21st, 2012

As much as we would all lie to ourselves and think that something like this would never happen here, I believe that it not only can happen, but that it will happen in our lifetime.

Men in command of overwhelming forces stand ready to take unilateral action to begin the forceful disarmament of the citizenry.

This is real, this is really happening, so my question remains…what will happen when they come for our guns?

What will you do is this is happening at your neighbor’s house?

What will your neighbor do if this is happening at your house?

What will you do is this is happening at your house?

What are your rights?

Better yet, if they come for your guns, do you have a responsibility to fight?

Our Constitution can only defend us if we stand willing to defend our Constitution.

Are we those men and women?

The men and women willing to stand and give our last full measure of devotion to our Constitution?

What will you do when this becomes commonplace in the streets of America?

If you are a US soldier, a police officer, a member of the National Guard, or an ATF agent, you need to be asking yourself some questions as well.

What will you do when that citizen standing in front of you refuses to turn his guns over to you?

What happens to those who resist confiscation?

What happens to those who fight back? Your neighbor, your co-worker, the family you see every Sunday at your Church, your brother, your sister, your son, another American citizen just like you. What will you do to carry out your orders when you face them?

Is refusing to abide by unconstitutional laws and mandates considered law breaking, or are those laws and mandates themselves unlawful?

Do you recall your duties under Section 3331, Title 5, of The United States Code?

“I, _____________, do solemnly swear, that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

Who is the enemy when you’re faced with a citizen standing on his unalienable rights?

Is it that citizen, or the person who issued an order in clear violation of the Constitution that you’re sworn to protect?

What do you do when you hear about that first fight?

When you read about the first casualties?

If you don’t think that there will be casualties in the face of gun confiscation, you’re not thinking very clearly.

And all the blame for the deaths will be laid at the feet of the dead.

The stories will surface, they always do, about the extremists, the radicals and the nut jobs who obstructed courageous government agents as they enforced the laws of the land.

Those stories always surface, don’t they?

EG 10 New

After all, we don’t prosecute agents of the government who engage in violence against civilians, do we?

Will you realize that the country that you grew up in no longer exists then?

Or will you simply crawl behind the wall of denial?

If we’re going to go down this road, these are questions we need to ask before we embark on the journey. We ask them now, or wait until someone, somewhere answers them for us. You really do
need to answer these questions for yourself.

If we face an enemy, we will be facing our own.

Our own brothers and sisters, our own neighbors and co-workers, the guy who sells you your tires or the woman who teaches your kids. That’s not new, it’s happened before, back when we lost touch with the better angels of our nature.

Except this time we won’t be fighting to free slaves, but to keep free men from becoming slaves.

Some of us have traveled down this road before, and we’ve answered our questions. Many of us…far too many of us, opted to believe in a better future when all would be the way things used to be again.

Some of us still wait for that day, those of us who aren’t dates on tombstones and yellowing pictures on mantles.

The sad part is that history teaches us that most of us will answer all these questions once the answers have become immaterial. Once we hear the results of hard questions left unanswered.

Then, we will change, and we will know what we should have done before it became too late to do anything at all.

“Yet there is one experience which most sincere ex-Communists share, whether or not they go only part way to the end of the question it poses. The daughter of a former German diplomat in Moscow was trying to explain to me why her father, who, as an enlightened modern man, had been extremely pro-Communist, had become an implacable anti-Communist. It was hard for her because, as an enlightened modern girl, she shared the Communist vision without being a Communist. But she loved her father and the irrationality of his defection embarrassed her. ‘He was immensely pro-Soviet,’ she said,’ and then — you will laugh at me — but you must not laugh at my father — and then — one night — in Moscow — he heard screams. That’s all. Simply one night he heard screams.’

A child of Reason and the 20th century, she knew that there is a logic of the mind. She did not know that the soul has a logic that may be more compelling than the mind’s. She did not know at all that she had swept away the logic of the mind, the logic of history, the logic of politics, the myth of the 20th century, with five annihilating words: one night he heard screams.” – Whittaker Chambers, Witness

Last question…

Are you going to wait to hear those screams in the night before decide what you should do when they come for your guns?

That will be too late.

For in this century, within the next decades, will be decided for generations whether all mankind is to become Communist, whether the whole world is to become free, or whether, in the struggle, civilization as we know it is to be completely destroyed or completely changed. – Whittaker Chambers

  1. Obama and the liberals are working very hard at trampling and bypassing the constitution of this great republic to implement their Communist/Socialist/Marxist vision for America.

Nothing good will come out of their efforts…

  2. Outstanding post Luis.

Few Americans can appreciate the significance of that great quote from Whittaker Chambers. He is telling the story of a man’s loss of faith, not in God, but in the godless “faith” of Communism.

The German diplomat who lost his faith worked in Moscow near the Lubyanka prison that millions of souls passed thru en route to their assigned place in the Gulag Archipelago.

Most people never heard the screams. Most pretended everything was normal. The men who knocked on doors late at night were professionals who did their jobs well. Most of the people they arrested were quietly escorted from their homes without a struggle, never to be seen again. The German diplomat knew no more of their fate than anyone else. He wasn’t present when they went in for questioning. He didn’t see any of the show trials where sentences were determined in advance and if the defendant’s lawyer spoke a word, it was to lobby for harsher punishment. In fact, from his relatively-comfortable offices, the German diplomat could not actually hear any screams, except in his imagination.

I doubt very many would even notice if BATF or DHS agents show up at our neighbors’ homes to arrest American citizens for “illegal” guns… or for possessing illegal gold or food. Most will not even have to pretend that everything is fine. We will not hear about the mass arrests from our media any more than the Soviet people heard the truth from Pravda or Izvestia.

I have faith in our military. Our servicemen and women will not obey unjust laws to round up natural-law abiding citizens. That’s why they need to be distracted with endless conflicts elsewhere.

It’s thugs like the Elian-grabber with the Heckler & Koch sub-machine gun who’ll cheerfully do Obama’s bidding: public-sector union cops with guaranteed jobs/pensions to protect who harbor baby Sequoia-size resentments against those unwilling to pay their fair share. Because they think it’s WE THE PRODUCERS-not economic reality-who threaten their bloated pensions starting at age 55.
