From ABC Spain:
Vladimir sends get-well card to his friend Hugo
Russian president Vladimir Putin has sent a letter to Caracastan in which he wishes a “quick and complete recovery” to Hugo Chávez, stressing the bond that “has intensified between our countires” in the past few years.
Venenozuelan vice-president Nicolás “Saddamito” Maduro read Putin’s letter in public yesterday.
The letter was brought to Caracastan by a high-level Russian delegation that flew in to sign a series of accords between the two countries on matters related to energy, defense, agriculture, and commerce.
Putin’s letter praised Chávez, saying that “during our many years of friendship I have more than once been convinced that you are a genuine fighter, a brave man with a strong will.”
Putin also said that he is confident that Chávez “will triumph over his illness and return to his country to move forward the noble cause he has set in motion” and that his recovery will lead to the “formation of a prosperous and strong Venezuela.”
