Fallout: Pro-Abortion Groups Try to Smear The Gosnell Blood from Their Hands onto The Pro-Life Movement and Fail

ALERT: Kermit Gosnell agreed to forfeit his right to an appeal and will get life in prison.

How long before the pro-abortion talking heads and the media start referring to the Gosnell jury as an “activist” jury? Well, that dog just won’t hunt because 9 of the 12 jurors that found Kermit Gosnell guilty were “pro-choice”.

First-degree murder – a killing which is deliberate and premeditated … in conjunction with felonies such as rape, burglary, arson, involving multiple deaths, the killing of certain types of people (such as a child …) or with certain weapons…

The country’s pro-abortion groups are having a hard time dealing with the guilty first-degree murder verdicts yesterday against one of their bishops, Kermit Gosnell. So much so that they are finding ways to blame his horrific murders on anti-abortion folks. Truth be told, the left/pro-abortion factions in this country were slapped down hard by the jury formally recognizing 3 aborted “fetuses” as babies, little human beings/persons and NOT just clumps of disposable cells … and by recognizing the medical tools Gosnell used in his procedures as his murder weapons. Yesterday it was Planned Parenthood’s disgustingly lame post-verdict statement:

Planned Parenthood applauded the verdict on Monday, saying in a statement that “The jury has punished Kermit Gosnell for his appalling crimes.”

“This verdict will ensure that no woman is victimized by Kermit Gosnell ever again,” said Planned Parenthood spokesman Eric Ferrero. “This case has made clear that we must have and enforce laws that protect access to safe and legal abortion, and we must reject misguided laws that would limit women’s options and force them to seek treatment from criminals like Kermit Gosnell.”

And here is NARAL’s response to the Gosnell guilty verdicts via their Twitter account

However, where there is one defeat for the pro-abortion lobbyists, there is a victory as of another as “The Butcher of Germantown”, abortionist LeRoy Carhart, will have no charges filed against him in the death of a woman whose abortion he botched.

Both PP and NARAL are full of crap. Pennsylvania allows abortion until 24 weeks (6 months pregnant). Given abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s late term practices beyond the 24 weeks, that these two pro-abortion entities are supposedly condemning, exactly what are PP and NARAL griping about? On one hand they are supposedly in agreement with the murder verdicts in the Gosnell trial, yet, they are complaining, it seems, that what he did should not be illegal. They celebrate these abortion “monsters” providers who dare carry-out the same late term/born alive abortions. They are trying to have it both ways. The fact is, their ire at Kermit Gosnell is NOT with what he did for over 20 years, but for getting caught and bringing it (abortion) to a court of law under the charge(s) of “murder”. They are pissed the 3 most severe verdicts involed his guilt in cold-blooded-murdering babies. This is why neither of these pro-abortion groups view/address the littlest and mos innocent victims of Gosnell. Just about every few weeks there is a story of abortion provider doctors doing the same things Gosnell did and botching procedures, some resulting in the death(s) of their patients … some of them employed at Planned Parenthood clinics. But you have to find these stories on the back pages of the news feeds. The abortion champions in this country demand NO rules or regulations on abortion, when everything else in this country is becoming regulated to death. They claim the women that went to Gosnell for over 20 years had no choice. However, there was a PP clinic less than 3 miles from Gosnell’s abortion factory…

The false narrative of the pro-abortion groups in this nation is despicable. The (local) reporter that spent everyday at the Gosnell trial said he went into the trial “pro-choice”, and is no more. THAT is why the MSM refused to cover the trial with all its unavoidable stark details.

Here is Rev. Marcel Guarnizo’s most recent article on Gosnell: “Late Term Abortionist Kermit Gosnell and the Banality of Evil”

Jim Treacher @ The DC Trawler: “Dear New York Times: If Kermit Gosnell was convicted of murder for killing fetuses, how is he different than any other abortionist?”

  1. Kermit Gosnell, when given the choice of appealing or accepting his conviction, chose to accept his conviction as given, 2 life sentences and protecting himself from the death penalty.

He chose life. I don’t think this choice should be his.

  2. Oh, the PP post-verdict statement is not lame. It’s revelatory. It mentions the women but says NOTHING about the murdered infants, which were the reason for the most serious convictions. These were NOT fetuses, not once they left the womb; they were newborn infants by definition. And the fact PP did not mention them was an absolutely deliberate, conscious choice–a choice that speaks volumes. To all appearances, as far as PP is concerned, these infants never existed because their existence was not wanted–or, if they did exist, whatever was done to them was beside the point. The only thing that mattered was that their mothers be safe and sound and that they get rid of their unwanted “products of conception.” The NARAL poster takes the same approach: it’s only interested in the women, their choice (to be irresponsible and exterminate the consequence), and their safety. It also says nothing about the fetuses (or infants, if it comes to that) because they do NOT matter; they are effectively moot, a non-issue. And you bet these people want it both ways, and they evidently have no scruples–NONE. As I’ve said in a different context, Lord have mercy, for they DO know what they do.

  3. Btw, if there was a PP clinic so close to Gosnell’s place, it would be pertinent to find out what the staff at the PP site knew about Gosnell’s operation, since it seems extremely likely they were aware of it and maybe more than just passingly aware. It would also be highly pertinent to find out if the PP clinic referred women who wanted technically illegal late abortions to Gosnell for “abortion care.” Of course PP will never volunteer such info, and any attempt at prying it out of them would automatically be labeled as an act of “war on women.” Still, if the local authorities are what they should be, they should certainly investigate the matter.

  4. I did not hear all testimony, but I am told there was testimony a lot of the women were ‘referred’ to Gosnell’s office when their clinics (PP one of them) were ‘unable’ to ‘provide’ for their ‘choices’ after a certain point in the pregnancy.

  5. Any clinic which referred women to Gosnell to get a procedure known to be against the law in PA is aiding and abetting the breaking of said law, and should be criminally liable, or at least lose its license to practice. Again, I don’t expect much will be done about this, because nobody wants to be accused of a “witch hunt” by strident liberal, which would certainly happen. The real problem in all of this is that the society as a whole has deteriorated considerably in moral or ethical terms, especially when the offender is fashionably left wing.

  6. asombra:

We come to Planned Parenthood. That organization is on record as making regular referrals to Gosnell’s “Women’s Medical Society.” The staff of Planned Parenthood knew exactly what was going on there. How many times did some woman step into Gosnell’s building, smell the stench, see the blood and the dirt and rust, and flee with a shudder to make a return call to PP to urge them not to send anyone else to that place? How many medical doctors heard stories and warned them? How many times did they hear of women being taken straight from Gosnell’s to a local ER? People involved in any industry know who the bad apples are. And yet, Planned Parenthood kept shoving ’em onto the treadmill. Who were the supervisors and staffers responsible? Any good reporter could find out in short order. Too bad we’ve run out of those.

  7. Thanks, Maggie. It’s pretty much as I would have expected; these people are quite consistent and predictable in their behavior. But no, most reporters won’t pursue the obvious unanswered questions begging to be investigated, for the same reason the story was deliberately ignored by practically everyone. The problem is this is not about journalism; it’s about political and ideological considerations and agendas. The same is true of all sorts of major stories, and that has essentially become the industry standard or norm. If it wasn’t for alternative media, which obviously didn’t exist till fairly recently, we might not even know we were being manipulated and deceived, as happened during the Vietnam era, to disastrous effect. I suppose all we can do is our best to counteract the prevailing rot, but it’s an uphill battle.
