Offensive ceremony marks change in status for hellish ethical black hole in Zip Code 20009

Genuine Cuban flag raised at Castro “embassy” in Washington D.C.

Words fail to describe the feelings elicited by this ceremony.  So… let’s rely on some images to do the job:

And….when the time comes to raise the American flag at the U.S. embassy in Havana, a few days from now, here’s the way it should be done:

  1. Déjà vu. Once again, the Cuban people are ignored, dismissed, screwed and, in effect, mocked and humiliated. You know why?

    – Cubans put themselves in a terrible position, the kind that’s far harder to get out of than into.

    – They’ve been stuck in it over half a century, with the attendant inertia, fatalism and “normalcy.”

    – They are no better than other victims of communism, even if they are no worse.

    – Fashion, that mighty goddess (one of whose avatars is political correctness), is their sworn enemy.

    – The world has much more incentive to gain from their misery than to help them end it.

    – Those Cubans who want freedom most and try hardest to get it are the most resisted and the most reviled.

One could list other reasons, but those above are already more than plenty.

  2. No fairy godmother, but plenty of wicked stepmothers and stepfathers, along with bigots, voyeurs, and leeches.
