This is totally unacceptable!
A Spanish clothing manufacturer is marketing items in a style stolen from Afro-Cubans.
Don’t they know that the United Nations is about to make all such cultural appropriations illegal?
Yes, the U.N….seriously.
So, how dare these Iberian pirates behave so badly! Afro-Cuban style belongs solely to Afro-Cubans.
Not even white Cubans should wear such fashions!
In case you are unfamiliar with the horrible crime of cultural appropriation — the latest indignation fad among social justice warriors and their thought police — here is a definition:
Cultural appropriation is the adoption or use of the elements of one culture by members of another culture. Cultural appropriation, often framed as cultural misappropriation, is sometimes portrayed as harmful and is claimed to be a violation of the collective intellectual property rights of the originating culture.
So, as enlightened people everywhere know, NO ONE is allowed to appropriate anything from any other people: no food, no dress, no jewelry, no sports, nothing.
Only “Latina” women can wear hoop ear rings. Only Mexicans can make and sell burritos and tacos. Only Afro-American women can braid their hair. Only Hindus can practice yoga. And so on.
Got that? Yes, Mildred, I think I do…. Does this mean that anyone who is not Scottish should refrain from playing golf ?
Yes. And only Cubans should drink mojitos.
So, Spanish fashion pirates, you insensitive imperialist bastards, stop selling these Afro-Cuban fashions.
It doesn’t matter that your “Afro-Cuban” clothing has absolutely no connection to Afro-Cubans (especially the denim overalls). The mere fact you claim to be selling “Afro-Cuban” stuff is evil, in and of itself, especially because some of your models are white!
This is such important news. So important. Boycott all Spanish fashions!
Oh, Mildred, quick….. find me a safe space…. this is all so frightful…. How can people be so evil ?
Oh, but is going to Cuba and staying in an apartheid resort okay, as long as you don’t drink the mojitos or borrow fashion tips from a cigar lady?
Yes, that’s it! You’ve got it!…
…. But no more pastelitos for you!
