Here we goooooo.....
They are starting to come out like bugs outta the woodwork: the congressional democratic conspiracy theorists.
The money quote:
Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., told a Seattle radio station Monday the U.S. military could have found Saddam "a long time ago if they wanted." Asked if he thought the weekend capture was timed to help Bush, McDermott chuckled and said: "Yeah. Oh, yeah." (emphasis mine)
UPDATE: Sgt. Hook is on this as well, and alot more eloquently.

Yeah, and McDermott could have gotten help for his crack and heroin addiction a long time ago if he'd wanted.

Dude, these people are definitely coming out of the wood work. The whackos are slowly emerging. They are all over the talk radio stations. Last night people were calling to talk about Ronald freaking Reagan! They wanted to be sure everyone knew that Gorbechov was the reason the Cold War ended. Huh? Is this all they've got? At this point, pretty much.

His comments are offensive to the soldiers on the ground, but they won't say anything.

The trajectory of the Dem party is just down from here. It's going to take them decades to recover from their post 2000 election, post 9-11, post-Iraq madness... I'm saddened for the old-school Democrats out there who must be watching their party go up in flames with horror.
My parents, life-long Democrats, my father from Boston, my mother from Laurel, Mississippi, have both recently switched parties. If that's not a bellwether, I don't know what is.

I have nothing against most Democrats. The ones that ire me are the alarmist, Bush is evil, finger pointing, conspiracy spewing few that think they must do anything, including underminig the ideals of this country, to get into or stay in office.
"Bush is evil" is not a political platform.
Talk about the issues, provide solutions, ideas, dignified discourse, then, only then, will the democratic party begin to regain some credibility.
