Grandma's Cubanisms

Here's a couple more of Grandma's Famous Cubanisms:

Cubanism: ¡Pa' su escopeta!

Translation: To his rifle!

Meaning: Wow!

Cubanism: Le patina el coco.

Translation: His coconut skates.

Meaning: He's crazy.

Usage:

¡Pa' su escopeta! A Al Gore o le patina el coco, o es odioso.

To his rifle! Either Al Gore's coconut skates or he is full of hate.

UPDATE: In keeping with the Al Gore Cubanism theme:

Steve says Al has guayabitas en l'azotea. Bat's in the belfry.

From Sharpmarbles via Michele, here's my camisa:

Kevin says Al gore is chiflado.

Al Gore says that everyone who doesn't want socialism is a "digital brownshirt". It's hitting the fan at Lileks, LGF (includes Photoshop), Michele (includes a different Photoshop), Val (includes free Cuban-Spanish lesson), and of course Misha. Now, I'l... [Read More]

A very old trick....you accuse your opponent of the actual behavior in which you are involved at that moment.
More importantly, what happened to his weight? Can you say Grover Cleveland? I knew you could....WOW!

I don't know if you ever got a chance to pick one up, but a few years back, there was this really cool independent magazine called Generation ñ. It was publsihed here in Miami, by a guy named Bill Teck (who is a coauthor of the book i just mentioned).

Let me know if you ever want some old copies of the magazine. I have a few, and while I love them, I have a feeling you'd value them a little more.

Ivonne,

I used to write for Generation Ñ. Had a bunch of stuff published there.

Steve feels that Al Gore might be calling him a "Digital Brownshirt". I gave this some careful consideration and have concluded that according to Gore, both you and Steve just might be "Brownshirts". I shared this with Steve, but in typical Fascist fashion, he burned my findings on a bonfire made of Michael Moore books.

Having put myself in Gore's fantasy shoes, I find the following to be painfully conclusive:

Al Gore WAS talking about you and Steve.

First of all, you are both conservatives and therefore affiliated with a cult-type group that is intent on destroying the Liberal American Way. Only a Fascist would do such a terrible thing.

You associate with one who brews beer and you both imbibe these brews....the Munich Beerhall comes to mind...

We all know that Man Camp has become tantamount with fabulous eating and consumption of the above mentioned beer--just like the Munich Beerhalls of the 1930's. Man Camp's reputation has grown considerably due to the Internet.

Al Gore invented the Internet.

Having invented the Internet, Gore has most certainly heard of Man Camp and what is happening there.

Man Camp sounds a LOT like Mein Kampf.

So, you and Steve must therefore be a Brownshirts.

You can't argue with facts.
