More on the ladies in white.

It worked. The well publicized protest by the Ladies in White - mothers, sisters and daughters of jailed dissidents - forced the Castro regime to transfer prisoner Angel Mora to a hospital where he will recieve much needed medical attention.

Mora's wife Berta Soler and others staged a protest in Cuba's Revolutionary square for 2 days until the regime sent in agents to pick them up in the predawn hours (not doubt to avoid further bad publicity) and then informed the women that Mora had been taken to hospital. The women protested at great risk to themselves and their families.

"It was my right and duty as a wife." Soler stated.
