UN Condemns US Embargo on Cuba

The United Nations condemned the US Trade and Travel embargo on Cuba yesterday for the 13th consecutive time. The votes were 179-4. Of course, the UN has also condemned and censured Cuba for its human rights abuses for decades.

The formula for lifting the embargo is quite simple: Cuba releases its hundreds of political prisoners and allows its people to choose thier own fate, and voila, l'embargo est finis.

Dont hold your breaths folks.

Heh...maybe the UN can institute a Cigars for food program...they (Annan and his cronies) got pretty rich off of Saddam...there's no reason they shouldn't be able score a few puros and some morenitas all in the name of charity and good will...

Jeez...just looking at the UN keeps reminding of that old Franklin' quote:

Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on dinner...liberty is a well armed sheep contesting the results.

The UN is a mutual admiration society and money laundering scam for megalomaniacs, kleptocrats, socialists, and anti-Semites. They oppose the embargo to help Castro, whom they recognize as one of their own kind.

Cuba feels no compunction to clean up its atrocious human rights act, so I guess Omrika is no different for feeling no compunction to trade with Cuba.

Come to think of it, that's what the embargo is all about in the first place, isn't it? Gotta love that UN circular logic. Barf.
