The Laughing Wolf has a beautiful must-read post on Pearl Harbor and what it should mean to all of us.
Remember long and remember hard the blood price paid, and the down payment made this very day. For at dawn we were indeed asleep, never knowing the burden we would shoulder that day. As we move to continue to shoulder our burden, remember those who shouldered theirs on this their day. Remember their stories, remember their lives, remember that they paid for our freedom with their lives.
Sheila - who's blog has a fresh delicious new look - has links to the headlines and stories from the New York Times on the attacks.
Jeff Quinton gives us a link to the National Geographic Remembering Pearl Harbor site.
Michele Malkin also has an excellent collection of links and stories as well as today's White House Statement on Pearl Harbor.
Sixty-three years ago today, 2403 Americans perished in the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. America mobilized as never before to fight back until unconditional surrender of the enemy was achieved. The heroes who fought and died at Pearl Harbor will always be remembered and honored, as will our leaders who never flinched in the face of an implaccable enemy willing to use suicide fighters to discourage America from pressing on to total victory. The parallels with America today are obvious, but so are the differences. Politicians and mass media were unstinting in their support of victory in the war that followed Pearl Harbor, but their contemporary counterparts have been far from fully supportive in the fight which has followed 9/11. As we honor the memory of those who died 63 years ago, let us resolve to similarly honor the casualties of 9/11 by pressing on to total victory against the forces of terror and oppression which threaten us once again.
TacJammer has a couple of photographs everyone should see as does Outside the Beltway.
Argghhh!! has some heart wrenching photos of the attack as well as a good collection of links.
Sgt Major Hook is short and concise.

Great post Val. My Father fought in WWII in the Pacific arena. He never talked about it but he made clear his belief that War IS the answer when you are facing evil. God bless America.
