It is just past 12:00 PM on Saturday and the snow has started falling in NYC area fast and furious. I hope Val dressed warm and plans on staying until the middle of the week. Happy Birthday Val!

They never bring enough clothes - I've had pals show up to New York from the tropics in flipflops thinking they can 'handle' it. New Yorkers like me know that you always have to have spare gloves, hats, coats and scarves - in multiples, because nothing is warm enough so you have wear several of everything, onhand for Miami visitors.
Val, I hope your pals had lots of extras to keep you warm if you needed them! My Indonesian, Hawaiian, Southern Californian and Ecuadorean pals flying into New York always did! :)

I did 40 back last September and I can tell you it was a hell of a lot better than 30. At 30 you get to call anyone under 30 "kid;" at 40, you get to call anyone under 30 "sonny;" and at 50, you get to call anyone under 30 "punk." So things just get better and better, especially the part where you get to call a state trooper a punk when you refuse to sign the ticket, decline to remove the Marlboro from your mouth, and then tell him to kiss your...
Well, maybe you don't actually get to call people these things. But you're entitled.
