The ABC's of Cuban Healthcare

ABC anchor Peter Jennings reported yesterday that he has lung cancer. My best to him during this trying time in his life.

That said, I would like to remind Mr. Jennings that he does have options. He himself stated:

"Medical care was once for the privileged few. Today it is available to every Cuban and it is free. Some of Cuba’s health care is world class. In heart disease, for example, in brain surgery. Health and education are the revolution’s great success stories.”

Hop on a plane, Peter. Your pal fidel can cure you.

But will he get his treatment in Canada? I doubt it. Plus, I think he became an American citizen recently. I hope he pulls through.

He has dual citizenship. An American he is not. He himself is quoted as being anti American.

As an enemy propagandist and sympathizer, he gets no sympathy from me. The only thing that enemies of Liberty get from me is hate, no matter how nice a face they put on. To me Peter Jennings is Dan Rather is Nancy Pelosi is John Kerry is Michael Moore is Robert Redford is Osama Bin Laden is Fidel Castro is Joseph Stalin, etcetra ad infinitum. They are all enemies of Liberty, whether by thought, word, or deed, and I don't care if any of them have to endure hellish pain for the rest of their lives, because they are subhuman in their contempt for their fellow beings.
Am I cruel, am I harsh? Yes. Why? Because my enemies are worse. I would see them in pain as retribution for their sins. They would see others in pain for some twisted ideology. I say no mercy, no quarter, give them the black flag and make it clear that enemies of Liberty must never be allowed to rest. Screw them.

We'll see how his treatment goes, Jackie Onassis also thought she had the flu.

Improbulus Maximus, Everyone here where I work is going on and on about poor peter jennings. I'm with you. To me he is commie pond scum. No sympathy here.

I hope that PeterJennings recovers quickly and completely. Do you really think that a little physical pain is sufficient, or effective? I'd like to see him live to report the joy of Castro's death, to be forced to report on the atrocities, to be forced to confront the inescapable evidence of his own delusion. I would like him to live long enough to understand his own complicity. I would like him to live long enough to repent.

Poor thing! I hope he can lick his disease. At the same time, some folks need to write to him and remind him the "real" system in the island.

Justice and hate aren't the same thing guys.
"If I were to hate anyone I would hate myself on that person's behalf." -Jose Marti

With that said: I don't like Jennings, and I avoid his news. However, I do feel bad for him. And though when all is said and done I really won't miss him, I know some people with Cancer and chemo sucks no matter who you are. And as to the comment about Cuba's world class health care I agree with Val: Jennings should put his money where his mouth his and go to a hospital in Cuba... That would be just. But then he'll have to put up with the roaches, and the poverty, and the oppression, and quite frankly the reality he ignored as an anchor... no wonder the Canadian is still in the US getting care with his hard earned US money. geeee.... the US is so awful ain't it? I don't wish him the worst, just a dose of reality.

Thing is, if he actually went to Cuba for health care, he'd get very good treatment - and then he's report on that to everybody who would listen. He never would realize what he got simply isn;t available to most of the people who live there.

We should get him permission and buy him a ticket to Cuba as a publicity stunt, que piensan!
