The Babalú T-shirt (Updated)
Among all the other considerations and preparations for the Cuba Nostalgia Convention was a way to offset some of the costs I have incurred. While I did get quite a bit of money in donations and sponsorships, the expenditures have well exceeded that amount.
Naturally, the first thing I and everyone else thought of was tshirts. Babalu swag.
At first, we wanted to make a few different designs. A "Che? Still dead!" design made by PTG showing the murderers face while lying on the morgue table. Reader CB's "Chivo Che" shirt with the omnipresent Che image showing a goats head instead. Moneo's "Charter member of the Miami Cuban Mafia" shirt. And many others.
The one shirt I knew I was going to make was the Babalú shirt. The one with my aunt Amanda's eyes shown at the top of this blog. Los azabaches, as my wife calls them. Thus started the Babalu Tshirt Cuba Nostalgia Convention adventure.
I wish I had more time to blog this adventure but right now I am swamped with loose ends that need to be taken care of for the Convention as well as a bunch of stuff at work that I need to get done before taking a few days off for the convention blogging.
Let's just say that one faithful Babalu reader took it upon himself to get these made and after a few weeks of my pestering him on almost an hourly basis, he came through like the cavalry riding in to the rescue.
(Gracias, Miguel, for your busting your behind, pulling strings, patience with this frenetic blogger, hustling back and forth between screenprinters, all the leg work and everything else. But most of all thank you for your love of Cuba and your dedication to her freedom. )
So, that said, I humbly offer the Babalú tshirt ups for sale with the following image for the small donation of $10 imperialist yanqui capitalist dollars:

The shirt is a high quality, heavy duty cotton, white tshirt available in sizes large and extra large with the eyes centered on the chest.
Tia Amanda's azabaches will watch over you faithfully, as theyve done for me.
You can order through Paypal or, if you prefer to send a check or money order, drop me a quick email and I'll forward you a mailing address. I will do my darndest to get them out to you ASAP.
UPDATE: Ive removed the Paypal button as there was problem with the link. I dont have the time to get that fixed right now so if youre interested in a tshirt, drop a comment or email me and we'll work something out until I get a chance to fix the Paypal thing.

I also need one with the pciture of a dead che in the tub. I wnat to where it during the second set. Kind of like an anti santana thing. BY the way, we no longer play any santana music.
