Posada Carriles case - weirder and weirder...

Miguel Octavio in Caracas has an incredible post about the sheer weirdness of the Luis Posada Carriles case. He wants to know just why the Venezuelan government wants the guy back in Caracas at this late date, and explains why this ought to be the last thing it should want. It shows that fidel's and mini-me's concern for 'terrorism' is utterly a fraud. He knows a lot about this case we haven't read in the media. It's unbelievable. As with a lot of stuff Miguel writes, your jaw will drop. Read the whole thing here.

The current Posada Carriles offensive is nothing more than a diversionary maneuver by cagastro (with help from his mini-me) to steal the limelight from the Asamblea para Promover la Sociedad Civil,

And to provide cover for the abuses currently being inflicted on the delegates and their families. The point of it is not to snatch Posada Carriles, but to focus international (and also internal) attention away from the efforts of the incredibly courageous men and women who make up the legitimate internal dissident organizations.

Migeul I agree 100% that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the news cast on the Carriles issue. Watch, not a single main line news station will say anything about the assembly, they keep talking about Carriles and using the word terrorist. The use of one word will be the one that is ingrained in the public's mind "Terrorist". Just like the Elian stuff "His loving father". They don't even bother to mention that he was aquitted by two different courts. The public will never know the truth and if it should come out they will no longer care one way or another.

Surely whatever this man may or may not have done must be decided by a court.

That can only happen if he is taken to the jurisdiction of the court. This is why countries decide extradition agreements between them - suspected criminals cannot cross a border and evade justice.

I understand that the US and Venezuela have an extradition agreement dating back to 1922 and there is no legal reason why it's terms should not be implemented.
