Coño, Val, they heard you!
From NewsMax.com: "Amnesty Official: Gulag Claim 'Overheated'"
"I think a lot of people see that as overheated rhetoric and let's say for the moment I agree," [Josh Rubenstein, Northeast Regional Director of Amnesty International] told WWRL Radio's Steve Malzberg and Karen Hunter on Thursday . . . "In our discussion this morning I prefer not to use the word gulag . . . The report itself does not use the word 'gulag.'"
How nice. Well the words are out there, right Josh? Too late to take them back. Maybe now you can make some time to check out Boniato and Combinado del Este and compare them to Guantanamo.

Haha!, the communist idiots at AI are having to backtrack and lie to avoid eating their words, but it won't help, because despite the left's best efforts, you can't turn back the clock.
Screw them, I'm going to go to every event I can find where these morons have a presence and heckle them endlessly.

Totally unrelated to this posting, but a comment that I have to post today is to ask all of you to visit the blog of our resident war hero, Yoan Gustavo Hermida, I reproduce his posting a few lines down....
He is a young Cuban American hero risking all for all of us in the middle of the fray in Baghdad. A hell of a soldier and a hell of a writer.
Move over Hemingway, Yoan is the real deal.
He doesn't ride in ambulances writing with a lefty accent, and an affected attitude, role playing. Instead, Yoan wears his country uniform with pride and goes to the core of the action. Go to the left of the Babalu blogroll and Yoan is the second from the bottom up.
Yoan and his brothers in arms are writing living history everyday! And with his gift with words, he is giving us a first hand, first person account of what the war is really like, in all dimension.
Bombs Over Baghdad
We clear the area of civilians and set up security. We wait. We wait. We wait. The Air Force fighters drop their bombs. Fuck yeah! Mission accomplished. We re-stage. We're ready to tackle the next mission.
Down the hill we go. BOOM! An IED hits the humvee I'm in. I blank out for a split second. I come back to my senses. A million thoughts rush through my head. I can't hear and there's dust all around. "Hermida, are you alright?!" My hearing's back. I have to get out of this damn death trap. I stumble out of the gunner's hatch and fall into the crater made by the explosion, but not before I see the humvee is missing the entire front section. The driver's dead, I think to myself. I stumble up the hill away from the humvee, and find that everybody's absolutely fine. "We're some lucky mother-fuckers. I've a new-found respect for these up-armor humvees," I hear somebody say. And it's true, it saved our lives.
I'm physically sound. I'm still somewhat shaken, but that's understandable. Life goes on. I don't wish to alarm any of my readers with this account, but it's something I needed to get off my chest, if only because I can't share it with my family right now for obvious reasons.
Before this incident the war was as personal to me as anything, it's become personal on a whole new level. I shall neither forgive nor forget. The Islamofascists shall pay, if not by my hands by those of my brothers in arms.
I shall never forget 3 June 2005.
SAPPERS FORWARD! HOOAH!

Thank God for heroes like Yoan. Protecting even those who do not want to be protected...

That's where the generosity of men like Yoan belies. In their strong convictions, they defend even who spit on them, the undeserving and the poisonus slimes of the lib camp with their all and every action.
I would like to encourage everybody to write to Yoan and to show our support for him and his men!

This IS FUCKING AMAZING
I just went to the amnesty international web site and read the reports for Cuba and the USA
EVERY negative report about Cuba was followed with a “but some prisoners were moved near their home” or “but some prisoners were given better medical treatment”
The have the ABSOLUTE BALLS to mentioned the new immigration laws of the USA as part of the internal political situation in Cuba. WHEN did they become commentators in international politics?. What does the travel restrictions or the limitation of fund transfers to Cuba has to do with people in Cuba being in jail?
AI has the absolute gall of cavaliering saying 70 prisoners are still in jail. And they do close on the cheery note that no more death penalties have been passed down.
HOW IN HELL DO THESE SON OF BITCHES SLEEP AT NIGHT?
Now read about the USA report is you can
OMFG !
Forget about Gulag, the USA is running an Auschwitz lite in Guantanamo . KIDS no less are being held without trial! The HORROR!. Kids that with no compulsion will wrap bombs around their little bodies and walk into a truck full of GIs
The Cuba report is 992 words long the USA report is 3,305 words! Vitriolic half truths, and peppered with anti USA innuendo.
These assholes seem to forget there was a WAR.
I wonder what they would have said about the Nuremberg trials. “Oh geez they didn’t have enough tea and crumpets and the uniforms were not QUITE fitting enough”.
There were over a million prisoners of war all over Europe and that was THAT … You wore a Nazi uniform in 1945 and your ass was gonna get burned.
Sooner or later man, sooner or later the true colors come shinning though that inexplicable hatred for everything America stands for.
You know Dennis Miller is right we SHOULD put a 50’ fence around our r borders fuck the Mexican AND Canadians. not let ONE fucking soul into this country. We should apologize for everything we have done wrong, all the way back to pre-history . Apologize to the brits for having kicked their asses. Give some handsome reward to Mexico for that land that they never wanted anyway. Tell the caribou sorry but you WILL be extinct cause we need the damn Alaskan pipeline so we have PLENTY of gas.
Close all airports and THAT IS THAT. Either you are in or you are out and if you are OUT and you piss me off I’ll blow you up.
I think that will be the only signal these people will ever get.

If you think the love bites AI gave Castro were disgusting, go see what they said about North Korea and compare it to a first-person account. This site has many.
Josh Rubenstein, though, is another matter. He has been with Amnesty since practically the beginning. I was a member briefly in the 1970's, and he was some sort of director even then. He tries to keep his politics out of the mix (usually) and dedicates his efforts to eliminating death, imprisonment, and torture as political tools. In other words, he's old school. The organization changed around him, and not for the better.

I seem to remember that Valladares was at one time involved wit AI, has anybody heard anything from him lately???

U.S. Amnesty head on Fox News Sunday admits giving maximum $2,000 contribution to Kerry for president and $1,000 to Senator Kennedy... Kind of explains where he's coming from...

Kudos to all of you for exposing these HYPOCRITES.
Maybe this will get others to take another look at "Amnesty" International...and close their wallets to them, if they've been sending guilt-money to support them. Support them in what? Spreading lies and letting them get away with doing nothing of substance for Cuba's REAL political prisoners?

For two days I have been debating this in my head and talking it out with two of my more outspoken ANTI-BEAST buds we come to this simple conclusion.
Let us say that the Koran was INDEED flushed down the toilet in Guantánamo. Hell, let’s say the Koran was used to wipe someone’s ass and THEN flushed down the toilet in Guantánamo.
So… is an American soldier giving up his constitutional rights, his right of free speech and expression when he joins the military?
Cause, correct me if I am wrong here, but I have seen quite a lot of American flags used for everything from a t-shirt to a pile of ashes. Desecrated , burned , stained and pissed on.
Effigies of Uncle Sam, torched as well as every president we have had since Nixon.
When these animals in Guantánamo were burning American flags or rejoicing at the crumbling of the Twin Towers, or beating those three burned bodies hanging on that bridge, where they following the Koran scriptures?
So Condoleezza Rice needs to apologize for this “flushing”, but burning an American flag the most sacred symbol of our country is totally cool , not only in some desert hell hole but the middle of Central Park ?
Am I the only one who finds this a bit ridiculous? Am I the only one who feels Ms. Rice committed a terrible blunder by just rolling over (again) and asking forgiveness?
AGAIN I ASK - WHATEVER HAPPENED TO A SET OF COJONES IN THE WHITE HOUSE?
Posted by: KillCastro at June 6, 2005 02:55 PM
Of course it´s ridiculous. I just read some letters to the editer in the LA Times commenting on the "Gulags" The reasoning is so ass backwards can convoluted I don't even know where to begin. And what really pisses me off about these fascists libs is they will be the first to scream that the government failed us the next time our country is attacked.

Oh yeah! , don’t YOU let a dirty bomb explode in rural Kentucky cause all shit is gonna break loose.
Oh Eisenhower, Truman, Reagan, will we ever see conviction of courage and patriotism at your level ever again?
