More on Shamnesty International

Siguen comiendo mierda.

I had to defend my position on Amesty International's blatant bias and irresponsible behavior the other day against a few people that still naively believe that said organization is a non-partisan one still truly vested in the pursuit of human rights for people around the world.

All I can say is that along with their very colorful "gulag" rhetoric, they have up on their site a banner that states "USA: Betraying Human Rights."

I've looked through each and every page and have yet to find the banners for China: Betraying Human Rights or North Korea: Betraying Human Rights or Cuba: Betraying Human Rights...

Maybe they just havent gotten around to it...

We should kick them out of the country along with the un and any American taking part in this should be tried for treason and shot. Fuck them

AI is plainly sucking up to its Anti-American base of supporters. All in the interest of "balanced" reporting. Balance being more important than fairness or truth or plain common sense.

We need to start a wave of citizen arrests. The next bounce for those suckers should be Guantanamo. And we will force them to flush the Korans down the toilet, how's that!

AI isn't just anti-American, have you checked out their article on Israel/Palestine? Look carefully at their list of demands...http://web.amnesty.org/actforwomen/isr-310305-action-eng

Tell me this makes any sense. Israel is supposed to do everything possible to end violence against women AND stop destroying Palestinian homes...while Palestine only has to protect women. Nothing mentioned about the Palestinians who strap bombs to their children or blow up buses.

I've been reading through all the articles and I could swear I was listening to a speech at one of our "peace" rallies here.

Same people, different approach.

Val, I'll trust that the link ended up in your hands and you'll follow it.

What a shame... I used to support them.
Of course that was when they were fighting for Sakharov.

Now it's Amnesty betraying Human Rights. It seems that the only organisation left on the international stage to fight for Human Rights is...

The US military.

Thank you Val for keeping us informed with the amo needed to counter these and many more movements which are anti-American, and anti whatever it takes to fight for the right to all to live in freedom. The AI has become just another disguised (and disgustinig) organization who are hypocritically supporting the opposite of what it's intended purposes were at its inception. And you Val, in the honest and high moral way that you have been doing, did it again by pointing out that whatever accusation made about the American way of handling its enemies, for some hidden reason has not been made against the worst oppressors of its enemies such as N. Korea, China and Cuba. Great job Val. We, the lovers of liberty will continue to counteract their attempts at blurring the vision of what is truly going on.

But, are not the States using the Humans Rigths as an excuse to do things like invading Irak?, or if the States are going to start any other war on the same basis, they should attack Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and many other allies.

AI = Artificial Intelligence - emphasis on artificial.

F U amnesty international. No damn good.

Scumnesty International.

Posted by: Murel Bailey at June 8, 2005 01:36 PM

Wait a minute, so the fact that China, Cuba, et al are worse at human rights than the US gives the States a free pass? Do none of you see the logical problem with this?

Yes, AI should have banners for all of the other countries mentioned as well. But you're all acting as if the fact that they don't proves that the US is acting justly, that people who oppose the very scary infringements of human rights via Guantanamo etc. are "anti-freedom" and all that other crap. And that just doesn't hold water.

Injustices, Ian? Injustices?

Have you actually read what these "injustices" commited by the US are?

Gimme a break.
