"Point the Bow Towards Hope"

My apologies for not publishing Part 1 of "Point the Bow Towards Hope" this weekend as promised. I have not received final approval on the English translation. As soon as I receive it, I will post it. Thanks to all who have expressed an interest in reading it.

Anxiously awating...

It will be well worth the wait. No pressure. but...how about that music article?

This is a tough crowd :-) I am finishing the last of three books I have read for the piece I'm writing (Cuba and its Music by Ned Sublette). It's a history of Cuban music roughly up to the 40s and 50s, which is the time period I am concentrating on. My article is still a mess, definitely not ready for prime time yet. Babalu readers will be the first to read it...

Cuban music of the 40's and 50's. Sigh. Take whatever time you need George. This definitely is worth waiting for.

Actually, how Cuban music influenced American Jazz. That is what my article is about; for example, similarities in how Cuban musicians and Jazz musicians are master improvisers and how this led to the fusion of the two styles. Good stuff.

I can't wait to read it, George. I am listening to Manuel 'Guajiro' Mirabal first thing this morning right now.
