Message from the "Dark" side...
Hey guys! First access to a PC I've had in 24 hours. I am at my work for a brief air conditioning and light fix. No lights at my house for over 24 hours now, and little hope for at least another day or two or three. Reading and eating by candlelight sucks. Sleeping without A/C REALLY sucks. Send some prayers down Miami way so we get our power back soon...
See ya for a while!

Holy cow!! I had my power back on and off again! It came back on today just in time to watch news, get on line and talk on the phone to concerned family and friends....then off again, more rain, thunder, and nasty, nasty weather.
Most gas stations are closed in our area, no gas available, some areas are pretty scary, I feel bad for folks down south of us in Miami where Katrina has hit the worst!! trees are down, flooding, I am sure the mosquitoes are the size of Army helicopters!!
very sad, sad situation...

George, I just spoke with my dad, he lives in West Miami near FIU, he says areas near the University people have been getting around by small boats! Kendall is in bad shape? and also Homestead??
Hope Val, his family and the rest of you guys in Miami are at least able to get out!!
!YA NO MAS POR FAVOR!!

George, hope things get back to normal for you soon.
I'm back to normal at home here in Kendall. I feel for everyone who still don't have power, I'm one of the lucky ones that got power back after only one night.
I'll try to put some posts up tomorrow.

No power problems here in Washington, D.C. Your one-day no electricity experience is what the Habaneros have been feeling all summer.

Best wishes. All of you in So. Fla. are in our prayers. Houston is nearly as hot and muggy as SoFla, so I really do feel your pain.
Stay safe, get cool.
Regards,
Hunter

Take comfort, friends: Janet Reno, too, is in the dark and sweating, and she is likely to remain there for all eternity.

Hey, George, sorry to hear you still don't have power, but I'm glad you, "The Boss", and (your)MiniMe are alright.

George;
I hope all are well in Miami, yet as I watch the satellite imagery, e.g.:

I am having difficulty believing that it will not cause what the montunos used to call "degorumbes" in Havana. It seems to have been raining heavily in Havana for perhaps 24 hours.
