Le ronca el merequetengue
It's pitch black outside. Your arms hurt, your elbows hurt and you have little painful cuts on all your fingers. Your feet are killing you and your legs feel like youve been doing squats for a weeks straight. It's hot. Unbearably hot. No breeze, not the slightest little wind coming in through the open windows. Generators are going all over the place 24/7. Your home feels like a sauna inside and even though your lying there in bed stark naked, youre still sweating. You try to find some kind of comfort, some kind of respite from the heat and balm but nothing works. So you resign yourself to trying to sleep. You turn to your side and when you place your face on the pillow, it's clammy from all the sweat.
I dont think I can spend another night trying to sleep without air conditioning.

WOW!! to think people in Cuba are going through the same ordeal daily, and on top of that they have no food!
We were lucky this time, I do feel for you!!.We got our power back on almost within 24 hours, man... You must be miserable!! last year we went through the same torture with Frances, 5 days without lights, no generator, all the food in the fridge went bad, ran out of propane, every place to eat or shop was closed, YUK!!
Lets keep in our prayers the people in Louisiana. Katrina is heading that way in full force!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Val, George and other families, Hang in there!!
YA NO MAS!!

YES, THINK ABOUT CUBA...
We're all so lucky, no matter where we live in the U.S. Every day of the year is suffering for Cubans, and when the electricity is down in Havana, I imagine that even the "Upper Class" of Havana, Castro's intimates, suffer from no air-contiditoning too, but they have all the other comforts. Communism means substituting one tyrannical and vicious UPPER CLASS in place of the prior more rational Upper Class, but the equality lies in the poverty imposed upon all the rest of the population.
This might be a good theme, Val, so that those who have not taken much interest in the poor people in Cuba can relive or realize what it means to go without electricity, with rotting food in the fridge, with no relief from the heat.
And, with what Castro is now doing in Venezuela once more proves my conention that the greatest mistake, the biggest blunder, made by any administration over the past 75 years was Kennedy's failure to support the Bay of Pigs Invasion, militarily and economically.
Glad you have things humming again, because the job you're doing is very, very important.
