Wile-E-castro comes up with new scheme

Oh how pathetic! castro of course, so we are in the realm of total 'pathetic.'

While the White Sox celebrate their greatest triumph in nearly a century, led by brilliant Cuban baseball players who rose to greatness away from castro's aggressive oppression, castro is obviously stewing this morning. He's in a funk.

So, castro has got a new Wile-E-Coyote plan to get his mind off the reality of things.

He's set himself up to be interviewed by washed-up, drug-addled soccer star Diego Maradona, who's got a tattoo of castro and che on his now-doughy body.

Oh how pathetic, trying to get his mind off Jose Contreras and El Duque by hanging out with a coke-addled loser whose main claim to fame was winning a soceer match with a handball back in 1986.

Grow up, castro, this won't take the pain of reality away or the implicit rebuke of you and your efforts to stop these champions. You'll still the thug in this.

The story of this ridiculous spectacle is here.

Not to start a dispute, but you have to hand it to Maradona to the first play on the same match in 1986. Just to be fair.

To also be fair, I, as an argentine, recognize that I was thrilled back then, but looking back, would rather had our team lost that match (7 out of 10 argentines would beat me senseless should I say this openly in public, or consider me a traitor): The damage that this guy did to the argentine youth in the “Sol sin droga” campaign! (check it, it was an unbelievable hypocrisy) Very typical of his idols.

In this own TV program, a few weeks ago, he publicly rejected a son he has in Italy, saying that “he was a mistake” and that “a judge may force me to give him money, but may not force me to love him”.
Like we say it in Argentina: una joya (a jewel).

I´m pretty sure that, in the same not, he may be endorsing socialism, but does not intend to follow his own preach.

Maradona is not a gaucho. No señor.

It's so sad about him, he had such potential, he was a brilliant player. Now, instead of teaching young soccer players and being an elder statesman of soccer, he's hanging out with castro and ... just as gross, sucking up to Chavez. What a shame.

Not a gaucho is a good way to put it. I've met real gauchos, they aren't anything like this doofus.

Talk about something new, just read where the barbudo is accepting U.S. help for Hurricane Wilma humanitarian aid. No good can come from this knowing the little despot!!!

this story, while "unconfirmed", comes from people i know in brasil, very well connected to the brasilian soccer federation.. quick backstory, brasil had sent youth coaches to brasil to train kids in a soccer program, and a few cuban players went to brasil to play in the second and third divisions, eventually, some of the players asked for assylum and stayed.. anyways: this was back when diego had the suicide attempt and was "rehabing" in cuba.. diego offered fidel to run his soccer program.. fidel asked the brasilians for advice on this, and in the conversation, fidel made it pretty clear his opinion on diego was pretty low.. he said he would never let a "drug addict" run anything of his.. in typical castro "doublespeak" he has a big problem with people who use drugs.. the whole diego friendship is a ploy to use diego and his fame..

Maradona's other accomplishments include swanning around Havana with teenaged girls on his arms, calling Castro 'the greatest man in living history,' attending the wedding of Saadi Gaddafi & coaching his ill-fated attempt to be the best soccer player in Africa, smearing his great rival Pele by saying he had an affair with youth soccer coach, & being confined in a mental hospital in 2004.

Maradona has a new "gift" for his friend Castro, he will lead a protest against Bush in Argentina's Cumbre.....if you can stomach reading the news from Granma, well read on: http://www.granma.cu/espanol/2005/octubre/juev27/cuba-e.html
