Last Call

Inventor Of Light Beer Dies

A solemn day for many.
Rest in peace, Mr. Owades. Without you, there'd be a lot less people getting together.

well, thanks to this guy, beer in the US was watered down even more than it was before light beer. Thank God for microbreweries....

Not to speak ill of the dead, but I don't think light beer is exactly something to celebrate. :-p

Thing is, I'm not a frequent beer drinker, but I do occasionally like a Bud light. (I know, Val, you'll disown me if I keep 'fessing up to that!)
Also, according to the article, he was also responsible for Sam Adams, which I know is quite popular.

A better headline: NOTORIOUS BEER CRIMINAL EVADES JUSTICE!

I think it was Ben Franklin who said "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

Lite beer is proof that God has a sense of humor.

Bud...Bud Light.

What's the difference?

Robert,

I have no idea. It all tastes the same to me.
=)

Don't pay attention to me, I'm just a beer snob!

BRILLIANT!

"...according to the article, he was also responsible for Sam Adams..."

Oh. I didn't read the article, due to the mention of light beer. As a Bostonian, I will thus rescind my previous disparagements and give him all due honors for Sam Adams.

Reports indicate that more dirt was required to bury him, as he was less filling. His wife was unavailable for comment on any other details.
