Moral idiots in New York

The American Thinker is flagging a story in today's New York Sun, warning of a castroite photo display in New York that glorifies che guevara. Lost in the photographers' whitewashing of the Cuban realities brought on by the Argentine brigand and others, The Sun and The Thinker set the record straight. The whole story of these moral zeroes is here.

Where can I go to read a fair analysis of Che's place in history. I want neither political polemic or wingnut diatribe, just impartial, fair history.

Suggestions?

AM:
Below are the texts of notes me and my wife sent to the columnist on "The New York Sun":

1- Mr. Meyers:
Just a quick note to thank you on this excellent article.
I recently had the repulsive experience of finding my self staring at the same picture you refer to in your article while taking a few friends who came to visit from out of town for a stroll around NYC's "tourists areas" It took me almost all night to convince them (mostly by using the same arguments and examples mentioned on your note) that my rage was not the result of me being completely nuts.
I recently was lucky enough to be able escape from Cuba (where I lived 27 year of my life) and come to live in the USA, running away from censorship, intolerance, propaganda and ignorance. While I am a firm advocate of freedom of speech and democracy in general, I think the "International Center of Photography" should have been way more factual and informative about the true nature of the subject....Its really sad to see people my own age wearing t-shirts with the image of a murderer like Ernesto Guevara, thinking that he was a member of Rage Against the Machine....Its pathetic to see them wear it with pride, knowing as I know how he (Che) stood against everything the wearer represents...
Again, Thanks for shining a bit of light on the truth.
Sincerely,

Juan C. Garcia

2- Dear Sr.,
Your article brought tears to my eyes, and hope, that maybe in the near future New Yorkers and Americans in general won't think of Che Guevara as "Revolutionary and heroic" any more, and maybe even they would appreciate the freedom they enjoy and take for granted every day, which Che and Castro took away from the Cuban people. It is about time we stop the adoration of this murderer (out of ignorance or rebelion). I don't think Bin Laden, Saddam or Hittler behave any worse than Che did and I don't see their pictures on T-shirts or posters all over the city.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
Ada, (a cuban immigrant tired of fighting and trying to educate "fashionable New Yorkers" about the true Che Guevara)

Now thank you, for the heads up on the posting!!

Evelyn,

There are many sources. While I don't know what exactly you mean by "fair". Let's see, can we find a "fair" source for Hitler or Stalin? I think the term you're looking for is historically correct.

The facts are he incarcerated and murdered thousands, including young children without even a fair trial. If you are looking for a place that sugarcoats or glorifies him, you are at the wrong place.

How refreshing to find someone not Cuban and not in a "mafia of miami" newspaper to tell the truth and de-myth el Che. I wrote this guys a big thank you note!

I am not Cuban or a member of the "mafia of miami". However, I am a New Yorker, who is not among the " Moral idiots in New York", but certainly among the "fashionable New Yorkers"( if I do say so myself) . Che Guevara's actions and place in history are fact and not open to revisionist history or some-kinda-personality-flawed-romanticization.

Evelyn, " fair analysis of Che's place in history"- joke, right? Read any and all of it..same answer each time. Now how you choose to interpret will determine your true inner character. Good luck!

Ed,

You know better man. You're my friend and are offcially a "wise guy" in the Miami Mafia.

Unless, of course, you prefer to be el consiglieri?
