My New Year's Resolution
I know there's millions of people making their New Year's resolutions today. Some will promise to stop smoking. Some will promise to lose weight. Some will promise to get more exercise. Take better care of themselves. Be kind to strangers. Spend more time with their families.
I never make New Year's resolutions. Never seen them as practical. You make a promise to yourself and then when you dont keep it, you've only lied to yourself. Why disappoint yourself in the first place?
But today I feel compelled to join the rest of the world and make a promise to myself as the new year is ushered in:
I will continue to do my damndest to be a thorn in the side of one fidel castro. I will continue to expose the truth about Cuba even if noone listens. Even if it's a cause of much and great frustration. Even if it's a cause of much pain and heartache. Even if I feel like Im battling windmills every day. Even if it takes and inordinate amount of time from my family and work and other pursuits.
This coming year, every single day of every single week of every single month, I will cagarme en la madre de fidel castro, cagarme en fidel castro y cagarme en su fucking revolucion. And I will proudly stay and keep my place in line to piss on that bastards grave.

Val and Fellow Babalusians,
One New Year's Day, about ten years ago, I resolved that I would never make any more New Year's resolutions, and I have observed that intention since then.
But today, I simply must add my vote and support to the list that you enumerate in this post.
Viva Cuba Libre... ya no m`as!

Here, here Val!!! Great goal!!!! We should all join in that resolution!!!
Although, most Cubans aren't going to do anything similiar to what you do! You, after all, put enormous effort and energy into keeping up this blog [not an easy job], but if most Cubans would at least do little things to F--K up Castro, that would go a long way! One of the things that Cubans have to remember is that Castro has minions in the USA who fight his battles for him, who propagandize for him. Those are his front soldiers and while we cannot reach Fidel Castro personally, we can reach his front soliders and in that way combat him. Whenever one of his minions, i.e., propagandist like Wayne Smith, Max Castro, Lisandro Perez, etc.. is quoted in a newspaper, we should take it upon ourselves to at least write a note to the paper expressing our point of view, telling the editors that we don't agree with their points of view which are after all nothing more than Castro's point of view [always appeasement and apology for the "revolution" and harsh words for Cuban exiles].
If most Cubans made an effort, Castro would no longer be in power, but there is just too much division, too many people who are too blase and non-chalant about Cuba and Castro. I've met Cubans who have incredulously asked me, "why are you so concerned about Cuba???" They say, "I just want to have fun!" To them, their careers, socializing with friends, going to South Beach and frequenting the right clubs where the trendy people are seen is enough! Cuba is an afterthought not even an afterthought! It's a NEVERthought!
So, let's all make at least a small effort in 2006; write to the editors of the newspapers whenever you see a Castro apologetic article, wear anti-Che t-shirts every now and then, support Cuban exile artists who are trying to make a difference. When Andy Garcia's movie comes out, go see it, invite American friends to see it. Chirino has a great anti-Castro CD out now. It's called CUBANISMO. Buy a copy! Read a book from an anti-Castro Cuban author and in that way insure that the publisher sees that it is profitable and continues publishing future copies. For instance, Zoe Valdes' books are great and so are Daina Chaviano's and Reinaldo Arenas's books. I loved Gigi Anders's Jubana, the girl has spunk and she is very anti-Castro, not to mention very funny! etc.. If you have your own webpage, add links from other anti-Castro blogs and webpages to your homepages so that when other people access it, they will see your anti-Castro links.
These are all little things, but like a grains of sand, they will add up to a mountain of resistance!

I will do my darnest best to help you crap on kaSStro, in 2006 and beyond! Maybe if we all concentrate on it, we may "salar" (jinx) the bearded bastard so he'll finally kick the bucket before 2006 is out. That, to quote/paraphrase Churchill, "may not be the end, or even the beginning of the end, but certainly the end of the beginning," for Cuba's freedom.

Babaulsia is a great part of America, and the leaders and posters here (except for the castro apologists) are great Americans.
Here is wishing everyone here that 2006 is the best year yet, and that Cuba will, by its liberation, serve to undo the great harm being done to Latin America via the 'bolivaran' movement of poorly disguised tyranny.
May God richly bless everyone here in the New Year with salud, amor y dinero!
Regards,
