Rice-cooker riots

With great fanfare last year, castro announced that every Cuban would get a rice cooker. It was one of the most senile things he's ever done. The brutal old dictator actually expected everyone to fall down and worship him for this insult. But rice cookers it would be.

Rice cookers for all!

As for potable water, salt, electricity and ... rice, Cubans were on their own, castro didn't deal with such details. He only had this obsession with ... rice cookers. The bearded dictator was even photographed carrying one of these contraptions like a pot of garbage ... after his five, repeat, five-hour speech, extolling the glories of his rice cookers.

Turns out the rice cookers were rubbish and not a one of them works at all. Knowing castro, we could have seen this coming from a mile away.

People are actually rioting over this in Cuba. The CubaNet story is a couple weeks old but sure enough, the inevitable-as-socialism story, so typical of the castro quality of life, is here.

And there are people in this country -- where a rice cooker can be purchased at almost any big store -- that defend fidel and condemn the US.

Haven't you been kicked out from here awhile ago, 'new to this'? You don't sound too new to this.
