The Cuban Memorial

banderaflores.jpg

We will be heading out to Tamiami Park in a bit, despite the fact that the Cuban Memorial services arent scheduled to begin until 5 pm. It rained all night last night with an average in the area of about 3 inches of water and I figure they are going to need some help resetting all the crosses.

The above is a photo taken by Julio Zangroniz during yesterday's prepaprations for today's event.

OT - Is this new news or old news?:

The South American nation has ordered a halt or reduction beginning March 1 in the number of flights into and out of the country by Continental, Delta and American airlines as a protest against a decade-old restriction on the access of Venezuelan carriers to U.S. destinations.

Val, God bless you, your family, and the work you are doing. I wish I could be with you to lend a hand, but I not only not live in MIA, I write you this note from Lima, Peru. I will include all the Cuban martyrs and the good people of Babalu Blog in my prayers tonight.

Mr. Prieto,
Just saw the Cuban Memorial covered at the top of the hour news on NBC. Everyone's comments, including yours were deeply touching.
