French Idiotwatch

Ever since Sartre Le Fartre stunk up French philosophy with his obscuratism, something that amounted to an oderiferous fig leaf to cover up a long string of French military failures and national ignominy, French logic has gone straight down the toilet.

Once upon a time, during the 16th through the 19th centuries, French logic had no equal anywhere in the world. The French were the most logical, clear-thinking, and readable people the globe has ever produced. Today, only with a few Parisian exceptions (I am trying to be hopeful about Nicolas Sarkozy) and in distant colonial outposts where Sartre never got the upper hand, like Daniel's in the Venezuelan Jungle, French logic lies in post-colonial-era ruins.

Here's the latest example of it from a Frenchwoman, who, quelle naturellemente! works for the UN Human Rights Commission. This stupid woman, Christine Chanet, admits that Cuban prisons are abysmal. True enough. After all, she doesn't want to look like a total oaf if she says otherwise. But then, her obscurantism kicks in as she blithely declares that ONLY the U.S. embargo on Cuba makes Cuban prisons the medieval dungeons that they are. That's castro's excuse and she's happy to make it for him.

It never occurs to this French moral zero to use Le Deductive Logic, that the U.S. put its embargo in place BECAUSE castro's prisons were so bad. And BECAUSE human rights are in such a decivilized state! And BECAUSE castro is a communist caudillo barbarian! Such a deduction would force her to put the onus on Europe, which blithely collaborates with the castro tyrant, same as it collaborated with other totalitarian tyrants in the last century. Blame castro? Blame Europe? Nooooooo!

Just go blame America!

So using upside down MORON logic instead, she declares castro is free to be a monster because of the U.S. embargo!

Don't you just love the vainglorious, self-justifying post-Sartre-era French genius?

UPDATE: Here's more on Christine Chanet - she's a heavy-duty abortion-pusher for third world countries, obviously desperate to create new demographic death spirals in other countries, given France's own miserable demographic situation. Charmant.
