No hotel room for you!
From the same guys that called fidel castro from their radio show, (You can listen to that audio here) we have the following phone call to the Habana Libre hotel, where they attempt to make a reservation, as Cubans from Cuba, and are told "no way, Jose":

Qu'e culpa tengo yo de haber nacido en Cuba?
Click!
La culpa no la tienes t'u, chico, la tiene el "apartaido."
Quick translation, for the monolinguals online:
What fault is it of mine to have been born in Cuba?
It's not your fault, mai fren, it's the fault of the "apartaido."
Yes, I know full well that "apartaido" is not a Cuban Communism term --at least not one that is commonly in use today-- but it should be, because as we have just seen (or heard), it is a common practice in today's Cuba.
And where are all those folks who protested apartheid in South Africa so vehemently (and justly so)? They ALL should be, by the same token, protesting the Caribbean version of this abominable practice.
This is a brilliant radio stint that, once again, shows castro and castroism for the despicable system of government that it is.

Nice phone call, but for the best calls of this kind to Cuba, no one does it better than Ninoska Perez Castellon, She pulled many of these to a number of "funcionarios" back when she was with the Cuban American National Foundation during the "Voz de la Fundacion" radio program. She would pull some fast ones on these jerks, and expose them for the opportunists, bullies, dolts, and rats that they are.
Does anyone know if these recordings are available??

But you know what? We can do these recordings till we is blue in da face and no one - or hardly anyone in the MSM or the liberal groups will believe us - they will say that this is propaganda and that we made it up.
However, if this was done during the 1980s and the subject was South Africa, then the left would be having orgasms all over and there would be massive protests and boycotts and the whole world and their grandmas would be singing "I won't play Sun City".

How true Mandingo. We've been losing the propaganda war for a long time. Let's try harder.

All of these telephone calls to Cuba are fabulous and I'm sure that there are hundreds of these calls on record, but the problem is that Americans don't hear these calls. We are preaching to the choir. What Americans hear is the propaganda that El Hotel Habana Libre [formerly the Havana Hilton] used to belong to the Mafia and that it was only open to Americans and rich Cubans, but was absolutely closed to blacks and poor Cubans.
It would be great if a book with a CD in the back with all of these calls could be published in both original Spanish and in tranlsation for English-only speakers. Otherwise, this is not going to get anywhere, and Americans are going to continue to believe that there is no discrimnation in Cuba today and that what we hear in that recording only happened pre-59.
