THEY MIGHT BE CUBAN SPIES. YOU NEVER KNOW WITH THAT BEARDED BASTARD.

Yes! Because that's how Cuban spies would infiltrate the dragon!

They're going to central FL & to beef up the winger, eventually using it for environmental purposes. Imagine that.

These people are greenies. Probably harmless, were it not for the fact they were in Cuba with clearance to fly here.

I don't know, but something does not add up here ... if they are French nationals who are really intending to travel to Africa (Kenya) for whatever purpose ... don't you think it would be a lot easier to do so from France instead of Cuba? The article states that the plane is registered to "Wings For Earth" which claims to be an "apolitical and non-denominational organization (headquarters in Monaco)for the harmony of people and their environment ... I just wonder what were they doing in Cuba ... " maybe recruiting ecologists, doctors, etc.? ... Like the saying goes ...

Presumably they've lined up a couple of places to re-fuel between Florida and Africa.

Bet they would not have had such a gentle reception if they had flown the other way...

Now you've stumbled into my area of expertise. The plane in question is a Leza-Lockwood Twin Cam, a $68K airplane, not a homebuilt. And it's built in Sebring, where the adventurers were headed for, for modificatons. Why they were in Cuba, I don't know. Probably for the reasons you mentioned! For more information, see this link.
