From the Pedro Pan exhibit:

The boy in the picture was one of the thousands sent to the US alone to be free from fidel castro's tyranny.

From one of the Pedro Pan handout literature:

Over 14,000 Cuban Refugee Children arrived alone in the United States in the early 1960's. Many may not know that the name "Pedro Pan" applies to them.

Please help us find these Pedro Pans who are part of our history.

Val,
I was --still am, actually-- one of those 14,000 Pedro Panes.
The picture above always makes me tear up, because that kid *could* have been me (though I'm pretty sure it isn't me).
There's about 2,000 Pedro Panes in Florida and all over the world who have organized under an umbrella organization known as Pedro Pan Group Inc. to do charity work on behalf of children in need.
Thus, our legacy continues, and will continue long after we are all gone.
Now *that* is "otro logro de la "robolucion" --too bad the sonsofbitches couldn't achieve anything as positive back in our own homeland.
Abajo fidel!
