Havel has something to say
Our brave friend Miguel in Caracas has taken the time to translate every word of a new essay on Cuba written by Vaclav Havel, who has never abandoned the people of Cuba even though Czechoslovakia has now become the free Czech and Slovak republics. Havel wrote a new essay, called "castro's discreet terror," describing the despicability of those who would compromise with an animal like castro. Havel says:
Humanity will pay the price for communism until such a time as we learn to stand up to it with all political responsibility and decisiveness. We have many opportunities to do so in Europe and Cuba. And it is no surprise that the new member countries of the EU have brought to Europe fresh historical experience, and with it far less understanding for and tolerance of concession and compromise.
That's Havel all right, and he's breathing fire against all the cowards and compromisers on the monster controlling Cuba. Havel is cracking the whip on Eurowimps who think castro can be "talked to." Havel says no dice and the only thing that will really work against a dank, fetid coward like castro is courage.
We love the Czechs.
This powerful essay ran in today's El Nacional which is the biggest newspaper in Caracas but it's subscription only. Thanks to Miguel, it's accessible to us, too. Read Havel's new thoughts about Cuba here.

The Czechs have the monopoly on cojones in Europe.
And a lot of other places.

Heck yeah; Vaclav is the man. It's not just anywhere that a poet is instrumental in the overthrow of a government, and then becomes the first president of a free nation.
