Liberty City Terrorist Arrests (UPDATED)
Lots of buzz around the blogosphere about yesterday afternoon's arrest of seven terror suspects here in Miami. Michelle Malkin has a great round-up, as does Allah at Hot Air, Gateway Pundit and Blogs of War, plus Charlie Bravo has some choice words for the Cuban-American bashing MSM at KillCastro.
I dont have much to add to all of the above info and opinions, save for one simple fact everyone seems to have been overlooked: Liberty City is but a hop, skip and a jump from Downtown Miami where today at 2 pm, a parade will be held for the NBA World Champion Miami Heat.
Imagine thousands of not tens of thousands of people crowded and lined up and down a Biscayne Boulevard with rather lax security - the parade was, in fact, put together in a few days time - all celebrating their home team's championship.
Now if that scene doesnt make terrorists chomp at the bit and foam at the mouths, giddy with anticipation, I dont know what does...
UPDATED (by Amanda):
Do you think this would be a good target for a terrorist attack?

Until and unless the "moderates" take Islam over and reshape it in such a way that it accepts folks from other faiths and beliefs without the need to behead them, then nobody will be safe from the threat that it poses to world. All of us must be vigilant and wary and ready to fight for what we hold dear.

Terrorists? You mean they arrested the reporters at the NY Times?
I agree with George. Let this serve the nation as a HUGE wake up call and that there are some "liberties" we need to learn to live without. One of them being the terrorists at the NY times who seem hellbent in aiding and abetting all terrorists.

Michael Ledeen's article in NRO is very pertinent to this discussion:

The major newspapers and the Miami Herald fail to mention the word "Muslim" in their articles.
I thought everyone knew what Liberty City is, but apparently not. Captain Ed, for instance, immediately began speculating about Cubans and Puerto Ricans. It seems he's as ignorant about Miami as he is about the rest of the South. I appear to have been blocked from commenting on his site - I guess he got tired of my correcting his uninformed opinions.
These guys, assuming they've done what they're accuese of, are Muslim terrorists, just as the DC snipers were. And they'll get a pass from the media.

Well Pax, Val took care of it and Ed posted a retraction - at least where the Cubans are concerned.
UPDATE X: Val at Babalu Blog rightly calls me out for suggesting that the Cuban-American community may have been involved as nothing more than sheer speculation, via e-mail. I apologize for that; it's what happens when calculating all of the potential vectors of "domestic terrorism" without thinking things all the way through. Blogs have the important quality of immediacy, but some immediacy shouldn't get committed to pixels, as it were. I have tremendous admiration for the Cuban-American community and their struggle against the fascist dictatorship of Fidel Castro, and I blew it by my insinuation that they present a potential danger to our country on the basis of no information at all. Please accept my apologies. It won't happen again ... but if it does, Val's going to call me on the carpet, and I'm grateful for that. Also noting this was Liberal Catnip and The Florida Masochist, the latter also by e-mail. They're all correct.

I predict that Jesse Jackson & the Al Sharpton crowd within ten days will cry racism. The Miami 7 were arrested, not for terrorism, but rather to improve Bush's poll number at the expense of poor young black men. Vamos a ver si lo van aser, because these boys were found with their hands in the (terror) cokkie jar!
