Oh but the free healthcare! The free healthcare! The FREE HEALTHCARE!!! It's UNIVERSAL!!

Via Cubanet:

New Dengue Fever Wave Strikes Havana

HAVANA, Cuba - July 20 (José Antonio Fornaris, Cuba-Verdad / www.cubanet.org) - More than 600 new cases of dengue fever have been recorded in the Havana municipalities of El Cerro, Centro Habana, and Arroyo Naranjo, said employees of the Public Health department who wished to remain anonymous.

Authorities have been meeting with physicians and nurses to appraise them of the situation. They have also ordered a clean up campaign in Old Havana, presumably to eliminate breeding areas for the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the vector for the disease.

The last outbreak of dengue in the Cuban capital was January 2002. At that time, a clean up campaign picked up more than a million square meters of debris and trash that had accumulated in city streets.

A million square meters of trash & debris on the streets? Where's the free weekly garbage pickup and daily sewage treatment? C'mon now, the revolution is so glorious and takes such great care of basic needs!

The problem with Cuban "free" healthcare is that other nations around the world also give free meds and education - nations like Canada, UK, Sweden, Japan...the only problem is that these nations don't kill, exile, torture, jail, repress, purge, execute, assasinate, defame, slander, demonize you in order to give you the free healthcare.

Cuba does.

End of argument.
