Meet the Murderer (Fontova Update)
The National Review Online does the introduction.
Update: Humberto emails:
Superb article on NRO by Ion Pacepa. Simply superb. More proof that what all those "crazy Cubans" were trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying to get past the snorts and scoffs of State Dept. and CIA wizards circa 57-59 was perfectly true. To wit: "You idiots better wake up! Raul visited Moscow in 1953. He's a Soviet agent! The Russians have a hand in the Castro rebellion! They're providing guidance and arms to the Castro rebels!"Now where have I heard that before?. On every street corner in Miami for the past 48 years, that's where. But to this day those who make the same claim as Pacepa, (but in Miami Spanglish) are denounced as "crackpots!" and "revanchists!' by scholarly opinion.
Pacepa's revelations vindicate every single claim about the coming Sovietization of Cuba made by Cubans from Guillermo Belt (anti-Batista) to Carlos Marquez Sterling (anti-Batista) to Raphael Diaz-Balart (pro-Batista) to Batista himself.
Not that I think--even for a second--that we'll get any apologies.Humberto

Excellent article! Let's hope the MSM improves their coverage of the castros' atrocities and public opinion will follow.

You would think that someone who was credible enough to bring down one regime would garner the MSM's attention. I hope this stops the flow of bullshit claiming that Raul is more of a consensus builder, and not as much of a hard-liner as fidel.

There should be copies of this article posted all over universities accross our great country. So people can get a good idea of what communism is , and just who are the people who run it.

Humberto, we're "right-wing reactionaies," we're "a bunch of anti-communist loud-mouths," we're "obssessed" with fidel, and on and on. (BTW, my grandfather was an acquaintance of Carlos Marquez-Sterling. Fine man and a great historian.)
