The Useful Idiot, a Prototype
From the Arizona State University Web Devil, we have the following from one Alex Ginsburg, who can only be described as the prototypical university student useful idiot:
With such wonderful additions to the world, why vilify Fidel any longer? What's a little suppression of political dissent when people can get treatment for diabetes? What are a few innocent human rights violations when people have access to locally grown produce without toxins? What's a little communism when Cuba is contributing less to global climate change than the rest of us?I think it's high time we lure Fidel away from Cuba and help him paint the White House red. Health and vegetables will more than make up for his $900 million compensation.
So while too many of us are busy awaiting his demise, we ought to be helping Fidel recover from his illness. We could bring him to the U.S. and give him access to our medical system. Well, come to think of it, the HMO's would probably refuse to cover the treatment.
I wont waste any time debunking Ginsburgs crap, but you can all email him at Alexander.Ginsberg@asu.edu and let him know just what a complete tool he is.

Just sent this one to our friend ALEX:
Dear Alexander;
How much Ignorance can there be in US Universities, maybe you should get Castro to Fix that too. Opps, too bad that will include taking you out of it, how can there be so much ignorance on you my friend, have you ever being to Cuba? If it is so good why don't you go work at university of Havana, and get your political freedom suppressed..? Eat from the "Organic" plantations you prize so much, then enjoy Health Care, that Universally does not work for Cuban People. As a side Note, do you know what "Denge" is??? , (Probably Not) there is a big Denege attack in Cuba as we speak, I wonder why..? Probably those are Right Wing Moskitos…
Not 100 years of University will teach you how to think for your self, GET IT….!

Is he serious??? Man this could pass if the guy was being sarcastic, but I can't believe someone would honestly say this, in particular the part about human rights violations and suppressing dissent. Mainly when it is the lefties who keep whining about Guantanamo.

This glassy eyed ignorant stooge of the left is babbling nothing more than what is dictated to him by the university. No doubt he has a professor that he is kissing up to so he can earn some brownie points and just maybe get a chance to carry the professor’s red bags the next time he/she heads to Cuba on an academic junket. Poor Alexander, wait until he has to get a real job after graduation and pay taxes then hopefully if he’s not too brain washed his politics will change and realize he was played for as a useful idiot.

This is absurdity at its best! Interesting to note that he's a Religious Studies Senior ... I wonder if there's a relationship to our Supreme Court Justice, Ginsburg ... can see some common tendencies . . . he should be granted a one way ticket to Cuba and experience first hand (that is as a Cuban; not a foreigner) the benefits of the castro's regime.

here's my email to the schmuck. I know it's pointless (libs can't handle the truth) but it makes me feel better ;-)
----------
Dear Mr. Ginsberg:
I first thought you were being sarcastic trying to make a point, but as I read on, I have to conclude that your knowledge of Cuba is based on such well known publications such as Granma Int'l or you are simply an agent provocateur.
Your conclusions are but mere propaganda parroted from Fifo himself, i.e.,
"Castro achieved two outstanding successes in his tenure. One is Cuba's excellent system of universal health care. Cuba has more doctors per capita than the United States or the United Kingdom.
Moreover, Cuba's health care is available to all of its citizens as well as people from impoverished Latin American nations. That Cuba, under embargo by the U.S. for decades, has been able to institute a universal health care system before its wealthy capitalist neighbors is a nearly unbelievable feat.
The second significant contribution Fidel made to Cuba is a sustainable agriculture system. Without the benefits of foreign oil, Cuba was forced to develop an organic agriculture system with crops located near major population centers. Cuba produces less of an environmental footprint with its agricultural system than the United States."
Cuba best healthcare is for the head honchos of the communist party and foreigners; not normal everyday Cubans. In fact, the normal every day Cuban is prohibited from all those swanky hotels they have there that are built for useful idiots and euro-trash perverts looking for sex.
They have more doctors in Cuba, but most of them are defecting for being forced to participate in slave labor in Venezuela and Bolivia and other locales. So you are deeply misinformed. In fact, prior to the stalinist revolution, Cuba had one of the best health care systems in the world and the 3rd most powerful economy in the Americas. Have you ever bothered to read the 1940 Cuban Constitution? A very progressive document. I suggest you toss your Che Guevarra books and look at the facts.
Cuba's agriculture is a joke today esp. when compared to its status prior to the revolution. The sugar harvest is a mere pittance to what it used to be. Your suggestion that Cuba is more "green" is most naive. The air in Havana is so bad it makes New York City seem like the Colorado Rockies.
And don't give me that "embargo/blockade" nonsence. Cuba trades with the EU; Asia and Latin America, and Canada. They have a multi-billion dollar tourist trade. And where is the freedom? In fact, as their economy got better, the dissidents got locked up. Why don't you write about them.
Rather than have Fidel come here, why don't you go live there with the real Cubans. Why don't you see how independent journalists are treated there. How a man is on a hunger strike because the castro govt. does not allow the public to have internet access. Hell, they are cracking down on satellite dishes because heaven forbid that the cuban public gets to see the real news rather than the dribble their govt. provides them.
Why don't you look at: http://www.therealcuba.com/ for some pictures of this utopia you and every other leftist useful idiot keeps apologizing for.
Finally, how about reading: Against All Hope: A Memoir of Life in Castro's Gulag - Armando Valladares, Fidel: Hollywood's Favorite Tyrant - Humberto Fontova, and Waiting for Snow in Havana by Carlos Eire. Who knows, perhaps you may be tempted to throw away your Che t-shirt and perhaps you may reconsider your praise for a murderous stalinist.
"How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin."

Mike, I'd add Enrique Encinosa's "Unvanquished" to that reading list to clear up the misconception that the revolution was fought by "peasants".

Val:
Thanks for the heads up, man. I don't normally read the student newspaper from my alma mater. I just posted about this on our blog, where I make the point that he's not an idiot --he's evil.
Take care,

When I read the excerpt, I thought it had to be satire. It's too funny, right? "Paint the White House red?" The human rights/toxins and communism/climate change tradeoffs? This guy is hilarious!
So I read the entire article to be sure.
What a bloody idiot. I am so glad I am not an taxpayer in Arizona subsizing his education. He must not be paying his own tuition. The real world is going to be a shock.
