HEY! New Yorkers!
What are you doing November 8th, say, around 10:00 AM?
How would you like to go to the official unveiling of "fidel castro's Deathbed Portrait" in Central Park?. They'll be honoring him for his "humanitarianism."
Hopefully, they'll set up a nice velvet rope line, ala Disney World, for all those who wish to piss on the bastard's "portrait."
Update: Exactly what I was afraid of. This "installation" at the "Artist's gate" is at the same location of Marti's statue. Absolutely disgusting.

"As Gregor Samsa one morning from restless dreams awoke, he found himself into a giant bug transformed."
And, it gets weirder and weirder?

Disgraceful. This so-called artist must be strongly rebuked for his ignorance.
What an abomination.

Or better yet, take a hitler poster and set a nearby display with the caption, "fidel castro's idol". These things make me nuts.

Hey every one. This asshole "masterpiece" is so "monumental" that he must be running out of clay. Let all fill up an empty coffee can with fresh morning excrement and send it UPS to the following address:

These are the same "artists" who sculpted Britney Spears giving birth on a bearskin rug (for which she did not pose.) They are attention grubbers, so I think they should have some on their big day. I think I may make a trip to NYC and share my enthusiasm for the champion of human rights. I hate the drive but it's a good cause.
I could not find the email address on their website but you can fill out a request for the mailing list (I entered my name as Zoila Aguila and wrote a lengthy comment) at: http://www.caplakesting.com/emailus.htm Be sure to share your comments in the comment section.
I suggested they invest in some security for the big event. They certainly have the right to depict any person they want, but to tout him as a CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST is... sickening.

>>Reportedly, Miami's Little Havana celebrated in the streets to wild rumors from anti-Castro exiles that Castro had died while Harlem celebrated Castro's 80th birthday in August.
The above puts the whole thing into perspective. The ignorance and idiocy of those that blindly follow propaganda is what keeps goverments and despots oppressing the people.

It bugs me that these people pay attention to this asshole and pay him repect like he is God. These people ought to go to cuba and see the filth the lucky people are forced to live in..see if the shitass will let them tour the prisons and talk to people there. People want to live in the freedom of the USA yet they admire assholes. I told a college mate one time if he liked CASSTRO so much go there and live all he did was look at me with a dumb ass ox look and no response. I think people that like that ass should go there and stay there.

In 1979, when Castro visited the United Nations, members of the anti-Castro group Omega 7 expected Castro to place a wreath at Jose Marti's monument in Central Park. In consequence, they buried a remote controlled bomb in a metal box at the foot of the monument. This is all public knowledge that was revealed during the subsequent trials of Omega 7 members. Castro was a no show for the wreath laying because of fears of a sniper in the surrounding tall buildings. The bomb maker, who today is an avowed pacifist who perfers hunger strikes to dynamite, dismantled the device so that it could be later placed under the automobile of the Cuban ambassador to the U.N., Raul Roa Kouri. Imagine how the world would have changed if Castro had been assassinated in 1979. Instead, the leader of Omega 7 is still in a U.S. Federal prison since 1983.

On the other hand... If this artist is a PUBLICITY seeker, how much FREE PUBLICITY do we want to give him? I think there should be peaceful demonstrations at the location (as it's our right)where the event is to take place, but nothing else.

There's really little or nothing to say to or about the people behind this planned "tribute". Anybody who, at this very late stage of the game, in any way praises, supports or promotes Fidel Castro is automatically discredited and disgraced, and forfeits all credibility or respectability.
Remember the phrase "Al bagazo, poco caso".
