Socialism sure is a great system of government, ain't it?

This is a perfect example of why I have such little optimism for Cuba. Sure, Fidel and Raul are bad, but they must have 100,000 co-conspirators when you add up all the military officials, the security goons, the neighborhood snitches, etc.

Even if Fidel and Raul die today, there are thousands of scumbags waiting to take over. Who is going to deal with all of them? It's not like they'll suddenly become good people when the Castro Bros. are dead.

This is a very hard picture to look at it makes me angry people back this ass and regime. It makes me wonder about the people who do this to other cubans. What a great goverment.

Yes, there are bad people in Cuba now, just as there were before 1959. Too many, or enough to screw things up for everybody else. No, they won't magically reform when the Castro brothers disappear, though they may try to look as if they have to protect themselves. I don't know what the answer is, except for decent, good people to do what they need to do to avoid the mistakes of the past.

Why doesn't the Miami Herald's cub reporter Oscar Corral report about this? His buddy Max Lesnik probably told him the injured man had been involved in a traffic accident. Miami Herald editor Tom Fiedler must be too busy swating the Chihuahuas nipping at his heels to pay attention to this human rights violation.
