Muy bonito paisaje. Perdonen mi ignorancia, pero no lo reconozco. Que pueblo es?

Thats Trinidad.

Val, no need to apologize. Look at Oscarito Corral's Miami Herald blog. In spite of the assistance he gets from the Herald, including a censor, he has not posted in two weeks! Even his die-hard bloggers stopped posting five days ago. The last one called him "an idiot." Requiem for the "Cuban Connection" Blog that got disconnected. In spite of El Conductor's "Missing" poster of Oscarito,

the cub reporter still has not bobbed up serenely.

las palmas son novias que esperan. José Martí

¡Que lindo ese dicho! One of my favorites. Let me see if I can do it justice: "Our palms are brides that wait for our return."

Good try George, but it just isn't the same. Spanish is a "Romance" language for a reason.

How about "Palm trees are like young brides who await our return."

This makes me homesick .....

Lovely picture. It bespeaks a culture which had nothing to do with the Soviets, Iran, Vietnam or any other alien entity with which it was unnaturally made to affiliate for the benefit of the degenerates in power. I'm deeply sorry the palms have had to wait so long, but the whole scene looks oddly peaceful and serene, as if it knows its true nature will eventually prevail.

The Villa de la Santísima Trinidad is its original name. It was founded by Diego Velázquez in 1514. During colonial times, Trinidad was the base of all expeditions to the new world. It was there that in 1518 Hernán Cortés set out for his conquest of Mexico. This is a picture of the Plaza Mayor and the Iglesia Parroquial de la Santísima Trinidad. In 1988 the city was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.
