Val,
This documentary was made in the late 1990s. Just four days ago I read in the New York Times that Cuba's "education and health care systems are universal."

Who am I to believe, The New York Times or this Child of the Revolution?
The spirit of Herbert Matthews lives on at the New York Times!

i found this one even more shocking:

these are the people that have kept this monster in power for so many years....and unfortunately, there are many where that comes from.

This is a great documentary! I encourage anyone to see it. Its basically apolitical, and focuses in a very surreal manner on the life of this one girl, who nonetheless leads a sorrow life, yet with a fascinating view if it.

Highly recommended. Pick it up at your local Miami-Dade Library branch! Tell them you wanna request it, call number: 791.43 QUIE DVD

Val, I watched the first of the three videos and found it so depressing that I will skip the other two. Sorry.
Tony V-thanks for the link to "Los que se quedaron". I had never seen this and it served to remind me of the s**t they have sown in my country.
