Bloomberg News aids and abets an American sucker
He went touring around in Cuba, sneaking in through Nassau, as he put it, utterly without worry that the Treasury Department would come looking for him with his email there so handy below his article telling how he did it.
The gringo toured and toured, ooohing and ahhing, as his Cuban guides told him to 'look at Cuba with your heart, not your head' - to justify and make sense of the fifty years' rubble that has become of Havana under the castro brothers.
Then the obvious happened - he got robbed of his fancy well-displayed camera and cash along with his eyeglasses and the shoes on his feet by a couple of pimply teenagers who didn't take too kindly to the wealthy foreigners going to the foreigners-only apartheid places perhaps. He made endless police reports, and got to see the inside of a Cuban hospital, making no comment about that.
Bloomberg, a financial newswire, aided and abetted this American sucker by allowing to publish his TRAVELOGUE on their FINANCIAL Web site, probably as an after-the-fact favor to keep his TOUR out of trouble with the Treasury Department. And this guy's email shows that he's not even an employee but a footloose freelancer. That's how he stays out of jail for breaking the embargo the rest of us must live with. Get a news agency like Bloomberg to allow you to publish a story about your mishaps in the Cuban hellhole ruled by the castro brothers, not to write about the injustices there but to kvetch about YOUR loss of consumer comforts and property, and all will be forgiven. Even though Bloomberg is not a travel site. For him, not only did he get the forbidden tour, he got to engage in 'Let's talk about ME' afterward through the good offices of Bloomberg, which accomodated him.
How do you like that little loophole for allowing American suckers like this guy, Mike di Paola, to sneak into Cuba without a press pass any time he pleases? It's going on, right in our faces.

The good news is that he was robbed twice!!! I think Cubans are finally realizing that these tourists are castro accomplices in the apartheid system on the island.

Keep it up telling the truth Val about tourists being reamed by Raul and attacked by the starving Cuban people. One of Raulito's gutter goons came to by blog and in so many words said we are being real mean to his boss and to quit it out telling the truth about the tourist risk. Aww poor baby! You greedy bastards have starved Cubans long enough! You will not be making any more money thieves of Cuba.

I guess anyone can go to Cuba as long as they publish the trip somewhere?
