I love Swedes
For a bunch of neutrality loving, cradle-to-grave socialists, the Swedes can talk tough when it comes to standing up to Cuban thuggery and buffoonery.

Communist Cuba debating tactics 101:
When confronted with an uncomfortable fact about Cuba, counter it with an outlandish allegation about the country making the point. Never concede anything, only point out that everyone else is much worse on whatever the behavior in question is.

Actually, the official Cuban response could have been worse. At this point, I wouldn't have been too surprised if it had been something like "Yeah, but you're a bunch of Aryan albinos, and your mothers are whores."
