Good show. Gotta disagree on one point: The OJ Simpson analogy os a pretty bad one.

OJ Simpson may be a murderer, but he was also a football player. Same man, but very different and unrelated deeds.

Che is not a famous revolutionary who HAPPENED to also have been a murderer. He is a man who became famous for a revolution where his ROLE was murder. His fam and his murder are very much related... in fact causally related, whereas OJ was VERY famous and had PLENTY of fans before and without connection to any wrongdoing.

It's not a perfect analogy but the point is that the Che Guevara from the motorcycle diaries (even if he was the person portrayed) is very different than the the butcher of la cabaña. Same with OJ. 2003 yard OJ is very different than the butcher of Ron and Nicole.

Whatever redeeming value the person had was far outweighed by subsequent actions.

I'm sure Ron Goldman's dad and Nicole Simpson's sister would have a hard time accepting someone wearing OJ's jersey.

Excellent show guys! Right when I got home from work (11pm) I immediatly went to the radio hour. Que lastima yo no pude estar en el gao a las ocho.But overall I liked it. Hope to be a caller soon, oh and get Humberto Fontova on, as a regular!

No, I mean the real George; the one who speaks like G.K. Chesterton (the wisest man who ever lived) and is a perfect complement to Val's Dean Martin.

Manuel: Holy shit! Comparing me to Chesterton is high praise indeed. I am not worthy... Here's one of his quote that applies to the contretemps of the last few days: "Fallacies do not cease to be fallacies because they become fashions." (April 19, 1930)

While you are correct that my almost forty years of music listening -- I have over 2,500 CDs and, 1,000 LPs -- have not made me a musician, it has made me acutely aware of the one thing you need to appreciate music: knowing good from bad. I'll take bad Thelonius Monk or minor Brahms over virtually any new "music" being created today.

I only wish I had the time to read and read, and read some more...
