I hate to say I told you so, but....

Remember that teenager that missed his mommie so much last year that he decided to leave his father here in exile and return to Cuba? Well, guess what?

Heeeee's baaaaack.

This despite all that free healthcare, 100% literacy, low infant mortality rate, new chinese rice cookers, energy saving lightbulbs, the chance to be the perfect "New Man", and other "excellent social services."

News from Venezuela is dreadful; Chavez keeps on his conversion to Cuban style government. Now it is "volunteer" labor.

However, the press is still publishing news

I'm glad the father gave him a hard time. Little brat needs to realize what we have here.
I am also glad that he took him back, eventually. I hope the kid learned a lesson.

the teen had the "wherewithall" to call a news station (consider you are 15 and have been turned away by your father)??? too many unanswered questions..

The bratty twit might be a plant (spy). He got away with stuff that no one gets away with: gets a ticket with someone's credit card, bogus ID, no searches, goes back and forth at will....

Smells worse than bluecheese at a trash disposal.

Yeah, you can tell some kids a million times not to touch a hot stove top but sometimes they're so stubborn that the only way they'll learn is to get burned.

I don't buy any of this story...how did he just fly back without any questions?

If it is that easy why get on a raft?

I have to agree with many of the posters here, something's very fishy. I know I did my share of stupid kid tricks and can understand the situation, but some things don't make sense. Calls the press. Has a cell phone already available and working to call mom in Cuba. Buys an airplane ticket, from Cuba(assuming that the round trip he bought in October has expired. And now silence.

Just yesterday, I was excercising at a gym on 8th street and 142. A trainer came up to me and asked, in spanish of course, if I had a trainer, I said no. He began talking to me and asked where I was from, I was taken aback, and told him I was from Miami, born and raised. He then told me he was still licking the salt off his body. I would say he is around 21-25 years of age. He arrived here 6 months ago. So I asked, do you like it here. He frankly expressed that he didn't like here and the only reason he was here was to make money and send it back to cuba. So, my question to all of you is, are they here for political reasons or economic? And if so, do we not deport Haitians and Mexicans based on economic reasons? In my opinion, they are coming here to bring down what we have built, to take advantage of this great country. The american people need to rise and be firm on imigration and not be such pansies. Their not coming here for love of freedom or this country. How many come here and within months return to Cuba to "visit". Helloooo. If you left a repressive regime you don't return. How many Cuban's left in the 60's and have not returned, and won't until the devil himself is 100 feet under? We are sugar coating these people's reasons for being here. But I know many of you feel the same way I do.....

JMK

I agree with you, even thought originally went I first came I did not like the States too much, it was a big adjustment, I was only 14 years old and I left my parents and everything I knew behind. The reason that I came was looking for the American dream, not the one about the riches and fame, I came looking for the most important dream that any human can have and should have been a born right, I came to be FREE, I adjusted to life in the States and to be honest with you I have travel abroad and there are other countries that I like more that the US to live. Now I know that the only reason why I am free and able to travel to those countries is because I am an American Citizen and I am eternally grateful to this country for all it has given me and I will give my life defending it if necessary.

What I am trying to said is that is hard for a lot of people to adjust to life in the States but eventually we all do.
