De Plane! De Plane!
There's quite a bit of commentary over why the airliner involved in yesterday's shootout at Jose Marti airport had it's logo either spray painted or blacked out. Who owns that particular airplane?
The Real Cuba has the answer right here.
Ill give you a clue, though: Think "Conquistadors."

Fox News did a full story on it this morning. They showed footage of the plane with painted name, and talked about how the government really covered everything up within hours.

Thanks therealcuba.com and Babalu. That's the first thing I noticed upon seeing the pics of the plane. Airline name, ship#, and flag had been covered over with some kind of material. Very odd indeed. But why??

I knew something was not right when I saw the black tape covering the name of the plane. They are trying no to scare away potential tourists for the incoming summer high season...this would have given the spaniard airline a bad name...

A couple of teenagers had the balls to take on the Castro regime (although in a somewhat suicidal attempt).
When are the 'Generals' going to have the balls to take on the Castro regime?

The Generals are making plenty of billetes off the tourism industry. Don't hold your breath.

I hate to say that you are correct on that.

The owner of Hola Airlines confirms that they are the owners of the plane. It can't fly now because of the bullet holes it has. The guy says that he will keep flying to Cuba.
See the story in Spanish:

The generals are doing very nicely under the current system, thank you (just like in Venezuela, if not more so). The smarter ones (at least) are already set to make a quick exit, if need be, to their foreign properties and foreign bank accounts. And don't forget, quite a few of the leading "generals," starting with Raul castro, are no such thing. They're generals in name only, and either have only flimsy military credentials or none at all.

The interesting thing about this shot is the giant berm protecting the airport.
The only other place I've seen that at a commercial airport is in South Korea, and they're technically still at war.
