"It was completely trivial"

That's the punchline in this Reuters article. Those were the words of an Iberia Airlines spokesperson, answering questions about the disgusting lack of respect that company showed Cubans with this promotional video that was on their website.

Oh yeah, Iberia's not-so-subtle characterization of Cuba as a place for sex tourism is a trivial matter. The Spanish are showing how highly (or not) they regard Cuba and Cubans. Why would they want to help bring democracy and freedom to a place when they could just easily go there to "follar" all the women who will do them the honor in exchange for a pair of panties and a t-shirt?

By the way, it's not just sexist, as the article alleges. That video is racist as hell.

And all of our enemies accuse Cuban exiles of being racist. Jeesh.

Please spread the word about our Bloggers United for Cuban Liberty Campaign for Cuban Independence from Spain.

Good show this past week cousin! You do the family proud. John tells me that the first president is related to all of us. It's too cool to believe.

I remember similar Hollywood racist cartoons of the 1930s and 1940s shown on TV for years depicting African Americans dancing around with similar thick lips.
Note the hypocritical silence on this issue from Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Charlie Rangel, Danny Glover, Harry Belafonte, Maxine Waters, John Conyers, Lucius Walker of Pastors for Peace, and other African American Castro supporters.

Iberia may well think it was trivial. To them it's simply a business matter and certainly no big deal (reminds me of the Estefans and Santana). Can you imagine if an ad like this had aired here in the US? All hell would have broken loose. This is way beyond Aunt Jemima, with those grotesquely exaggerated lips and the little detail of black women waiting hand and foot on a white male. Of course the so-called liberal crowd won't go after this, because they'd rather die than be on the same page with Cuban exiles. Hypocritical? So what else is new?
