Go see Michael Moore's "Sicko"
It may be hard to admit, and maybe even harder to stomach, but Michael Moore's new film matters.
For those of us who care about Cuba, "Sicko" cannot be ignored.

I see your point! However, I have not intention of contributing a single penny to michael moore's Communist pockets.

Robert, very well put. Like it or not, the Moore movie, at least this summer, will define the discussion about Cuba, its health care system, etc., so it is incumbent that those of us on the other side be ready to respond. Even so since the facts, the truth are on our side. Unfortunately, sometimes we have to get into the arena with the likes of Moore in order to best combat them. I don't like spending my money to see a movie like this but in the long term, it's an OK investment.

Umm, the way to see a movie when you disagree with giving Fat Bastard a dime is to find a pirate copy.

While I cringe at the thought of paying $11.00 to see this film, I will go and see it anyway. The fact that Michael Moore would cater and give credibility to Castro's propaganda machine in order to promote the Secular Progressive agenda in the United States is evil in every sense of the word. I hope that many Cuban Americans will see this film and take to the airwaves and the press to expose the myths and lies told in this movie to the American masses.
If there's one good thing about this film, it's that Castro's treatment of Cubans will receive a much needed nationwide spotlight for the first time in a long time.

Forget pirating! Buy a ticket for another movie and walk into the Michael Moore film instead. He gets nada. I heard a certain talk radio host suggest this- I'd like to say I have a moral dilema with it but, uh, I don't.

I swear, this blog is always indirectly encouraging people to break the law. I am so mad about it, that I will write another letter to the editor of the New York Times. See you in court Mr. Conductor, you started this whole thing with those pesky stickers.

I often get confused in movie houses and walk into the wrong theater. I'm a product of public school. What can you do?
I'd never break the law on purpose.

Mr. harpofly: Had you gone to the public schools in revolutionary Cuba, you would not have that problem. They have exemplary free education that turn out model citizens. I should know, I am the foremost expert on Cuban society and director of the Center for Cubanologo Studies at FIU. I agree with my colleage Marifea about the surreptitious intentions of this blog and Mr. Conductor's chicanery.

Claudia,
What a wonderful suggestion. I would also recommend that those that plan to see "Sicko" take along a barf bag.

Ya Lisandro volvió a formar un peo. Llevate tu peste a otra parte, o mejor, deja ese aroma en tu timbiriche de cubanología en FIU.

Following Claudia's advice, if I go see Moore's latest docuspintary, I'll pay for the genre, fiction. Doesn't matter which movie in the genre I pay for, Spiderman, Pirates, Shrek, Sicko, etc... That would be my rationalization. ;-) Money is fungible. So, my paying for it just to find out exactly what shape and form Moore's latest spin takes will be counted as support for the guy's work. Maybe I'll just wait for the dvd. My Netflix membership is a sunk cost. -jl
