Duro y a la cabeza

Para cualquier lector que sólo sepa español:

Aunque Zapatero y su gente dan verdadero asco y merecen el total desprecio de todo cubano digno, el grave problema que afrenta esta campaña publicitaria se remonta al tiempo de Franco, que con todo su ultraderechismo no tuvo reparo en hacer negocios con Castro. No se trata simplemente de afinidad ideológica entre socialistas españoles y castristas cubanos, pues esto es más complicado y torcido que algo puramente político. Aquí entra también un antiamericanismo rancio, que prefiere irle en contra a los Estados Unidos a ayudar a Cuba. Esta postura es una bajeza y un insulto, y resulta completamente inaceptable para el pueblo cubano, que merece mucho mejor de España que resentimientos infantiles tras más de un siglo. La codicia sin moral de empresarios españoles, operando a base de lo que saben es mano de obra esclava y explotada, por no hablar de beneficio a la tiranía, es algo muy anterior a Zapatero y no se debe a ningún gobierno en particular--es un problema social o cultural.

No hay justificación posible. Dada la historia, es absolutamente escandaloso y profundamente doloroso que los checos, por ejemplo, se porten mucho mejor con Cuba que los españoles. Por eso las pretensiones de España de dirigir la política europea hacia Cuba son como una broma de mal gusto. Al pueblo español, si le importa lo que exige el honor y le interesa el respeto del cubano, le corresponde rechazar, claramente y con firmeza, no solamente a un Zapatero o Moratinos, sino TODO lo que se interponga entre Cuba y su total liberación.

For the past 48 years Spain and other countries have been trafficking in stolen property. Spain, Mexico and Canada are amongst the worst. With fifo’s illness and raulita in charge, these countries know that things are a bit uncertain in Cuba. They have finally come to realize that their little "gravy train" will soon come to the end of its journey, and they don't want to get off.

In fact, a few days ago Jorge Castañeda, former Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs, had the unmitigated gull to say on a Spanish speaking TV channel that “there are secret negotiations taking place between these countries and the U.S. to decide the future of Cuba.” He further stated that they are neither considering the PAST nor the PRESENT only the FUTURE, because THESE countries (Spain, Mexico, and Canada) have a LOT of INVESTMENTS in Cuba. In other words… They want to make sure they get to KEEP what they have STOLEN. Mr. Castañeda, at this time, made a point to look directly into the camera to stress that “Cubans in Miami or elsewhere are not going to decide what is going to happen in Cuba.” Well, I guess Mr. Castañeda don’t know Cubans very well.

Yes, I'm sure there's great interest in some quarters in a repeat of the Treaty of Paris scenario at the end of the Cuban War of Independence, when things were settled between the US and Spain and Cubans were essentially shut out. It was an abominable scandal then, and it would be absolutely unthinkable now. But, when there are enough vested interests, however illegitimate, people will still try to get away with murder. It's going to be plenty ugly, that's for sure.
