Los Culpables - The Guilty

The international community has been too easy on what is perhaps the single-most important individual involved in the current preservation of the Castro regime. Forget about Spain, Canada, Germany, and other countries whose financial support bolsters Cuban repression. Forget even Raul himself, who has taken the reigns of Cuba's highest-ranking position.

Ladies and gentlemen, damas y caballeros - the man of the hour is none other than Dr. Jose Luis Garcia Sabrido, a staff member at Madrid's Gregorio Marañón Hospital.

When Garcia Sabrido arrived in Havana last December at the request of the Cuban government, he was allegedly charged with repairing the damage done to Fidel by a botched Cuban surgery which - according to some reports - left the aging "leader" with a belly-full of caca. For nearly five decades, Fifo had reveled in shitting all over the people of Cuba - only to shit on himself in the end. Aahh, poetic justice. But I digress - Garcia Sabrido treated el commandante and took the spotlight in a series of interviews, during which he remarked that the island's number-one tyrant was making good progress on the road to recovery - thanks in large part to . . . Dr. Jose Luis Garcia Sabrido. Some six months later, Cubans in our beloved homeland are still stuck with the lingering aura of Fidel and a Spanish doctor is guilty of assisting in the preservation of Cuban repression.

Ever since the inception of the Hippocratic oath in the 4th century BC, doctors have been charged with the preservation of life. In treating Fidel, Garcia Sabrido kept the broken cart going just a bit longer and as such, extended the misery of 11-million people trapped in one of the world's last Stalinist dictatorships. The "good" doctor could have said no. He could have allowed the old man to die a natural death but instead, this collaborationist Madrileño saw an opportunity to gain some international notoriety and just a bit more than the customary 15-minutes of fame. Fame gained at the expense of our family members.

Dr. Jose Luis Garcia Sabrido: I charge you as being "culpable" of Cuban repression.

Indeed, he looks quite happy with himself. Shameless self-promoting prick.

Suggested captioning for the photo:

"Yes, I did my bit to prolong the murderous dictator's life, as well as the misery and suffering of millions of people. No, I'm not sorry. Being communist, er, I mean socialist, means never having to say you're sorry. Do you see Putin apologizing for the countless atrocities committed by the KGB, to which he belonged? Do you see the Russians treating him like someone with drug-resistant TB and a hacking cough? No? There you go. At most, if I'm ever really pressed, I'll claim I was a misguided idealist, or some such drivel. I mean, look at my face, OK? What the hell do I look like to you?"
